Chapter 16 : lightning strike

Alex  pov:

She sobbed silently in the backseat as we drove home. Cameron also stayed silent throughout the drive. At about 1 a.m. We switched spots and I started driving. I sped. I wanted to get back to hq. Back to izzy. It was 10 am when we got back to hq. I woke Cameron up as I parked. I got out and stretched. Cameron opened the back door and rudely woke Daija up. I started walking inside before she could look at me. But I heard her follow. I walked to max's office with her in tow. Cameron excused himself to his room. I opened the door. He and izzy were laughing about something when we walked in. Izzy stopped and stared at Daija. I shut the door beyond us and the next thing I knew izzy punched Daija. She fell to the ground clutching her jaw. "That's for what you did, bitch" izzy spat at her and went to swing again. I grabbed her hand and stopped her. "Izzy stop. Let it go" I said gently. I stepped between her and Daija. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed me, making sure Daija could see.

I pulled away after a bit and we left max's office. When we got to my room I flicked on the light. "Hey your eyes. They aren't changing." Isabelle's said. I got worried. "Never mind they're just changing slow" she added in. "Hey I'm sorry about what happened back there." Isabelle said and looked at her feet. I sat on the bed. "It's ok. When we broke her out she thought we still had a thing. Even after she admitted what she did. So I'm kinda glad you did" I replied. Izzy smiled. "So how'd it go? Are you ok?" Isabelle asked as she sat next to me. "It went fine. And yes I'm ok just tired." I replied back. "Want to sleep?" She asked. I shook my head. She intertwined her fingers with mine. "Can I tell you something?" I asked her. "Of course Alex" she replied. "It may sound stupid but when I'm around you I feel better. And when I'm not with you I get nervous and I don't know it, just feels wrong to be without you." I told her slowly. "Then I'll be around you" she said and smiled at me. "Sorry if I sound like someone who's crazy" i added. "Alex you don't sound like that. You were tortured. For months. No matter what you do or who you are that's going to change your life. The fact that you're still a functional guy is amazing and I'm so grateful that you are. You're amazing Alex. Even if you have wounds that will take a long time to heal. I'll stay with you. And I won't leave you and I'll love you" she said and kissed me.

I felt peaceful then. She told me what I needed to hear. And she meant it. She didn't pull away for a long time. When she did she just stared at me with affection in her beautiful blue eyes. "So Christmas is in like a week" she said. "Yeah it is. What do you want for Christmas?" I asked. "Nothing. I have almost everything I want right here" she said. "Almost everything?" I replied with a smart ass tone. "Yes. Because unless you can transform into a nice coat then you're missing something" she said with a grin. I knew what to get her. "So what do you want?" She asked. "And don't say nothing" she added as I opened my mouth. I closed it and thought. "I don't know." I said. "Surprise me" I told her. She nodded. We talked and hung out until we were both too tired to stay awake. We went to sleep at around 11.

Suddenly I was on top of a building. It was storming and below me their was nothing but empty space. Suddenly I fell off the building and jolted awake. Isabelle mumbled something in her sleep and turned over beside me. It was 6:30 in the morning. I gently got off the bed and snuck out. I got in the hypersport and drove towards the city. When I got into town I headed to a jewelry store. They were just barely opening so the store was empty when I walked in. I looked around at the necklaces until I found the perfect one. I bought it with my unlimited money card and drove back to hq. It was 7:15 when I got back so no one was really around.

I went back to my room. I took out the necklace box and put it into my jacket pocket. I would give her the necklace and my jacket. Girls liked guys jackets for some reason and I hoped izzy would too. I hung my jacket back up. I climbed back in bed carefully next to izzy. And I drifted off to sleep back next to her. The next two days me, Isabelle and Cameron played Xbox together for hours straight, having loads of fun. It was nice just hanging out around them not having a single worry.
