Chapter 12 : revenge

Alex pov:

I brought the dart gun's sights to my face and aimed at one of the seven men. Time slowed. I fired two shots at him and he fell along with two of his other friends as we all opened fire. One of the grabbed something from his belt and tossed it near izzy. I realized it was a grenade. I used my powers and threw back the grenade but it exploded in midair right in front of me and izzy. We flew backwards from the force and landed hard on the ground and stunning me.

"Izzy are you ok?" I asked frantically, slowly recovering from the blast. "Yeah" she said sounding out of breath. We got up and I noticed all the enemy soldiers were out. I looked at Isabelle. She had a crazy look in her eyes. I felt crazy. Adrenalin was rushing through me. She jumped at me and we were kissing. This time both our lips were slightly chapped and both of us were completely tense instead of the normal calm. She cut it off shortly and looked at me saying "that was crazy!" I nodded in agreement. "Alright Alex, Isabelle, grab all their weapons. Your four, unload the semi and let's go." Max shouted. 20 minutes later both SUVs had weapons and ammo crates filled to the brim. We started making our way back to hq. "Boy when they wake up they won't be happy. Popped tires and no weapons" I said as we drove. "Good work out there guys" max replied and we drove home.

When we got back it was almost 4 so I went to go find Cameron while izzy took a nap. When I got to his room I knocked. Soon after Cameron opened the door. "Alex come in" he said looking a little surprised. "Sup" I said. "Nothin much. It's been awhile since you've talked. How are you?" He asked me. In truth I didn't know. I had been trying to not think about my parents. Their memory was still too painful. Being around Isabelle helped. "I'm ok I guess" I replied. "That's good to hear. And I'm sorry about your your parents Alex" he said. I couldn't say anything. I just nodded. "Anyway how's everything going?" He asked. "Good. I've been doing raid left and right all month." I replied. "Yeah me too. It almost December. I can't believe it. It's been almost six months since we broke you out" he said. For a brief moment I thought back to that horrible facility. The dim light. The sound of my own blood dripping.

I shuddered. "Yeah I can't believe it either" I said to him. "So how long have you been dating Isabelle?" He said looking at me with a goofy grin. "4 months" I replied back. "So have you slept with her yet?" He asked jokingly. I punched him in the arm. "Just kidding geez. But I'm glad you have her. She's good for you." He said. And she was. I felt better around her. Felt wanted. "Hey want a mtn dew?" Cameron asked. I nodded. He got up off the bed and opened a mini fridge at the foot of the bed that I hadn't noticed. He handed me a can. We opened ours and drank. "Man seems like old times" I said remembering back to the days when me and Cameron were worry free always hanging out drinking mtn dew. "Yeah. Those were the times" Cameron replied, and we continued talking like the friends we were and i had the feeling that life was good.

An hour and a half later I walked out of Cameron's room feeling happier now that I had talked to my best friend. When I walked back into my room Isabelle woke up. Her hair was all of the place. She looked cute. "Hey" I said. She yawned and said hi. "I need to take a shower. I can feel my hair is everywhere" she said. "Oh yeah it is" I said. She got up and went in my bathroom. A minute later I heard the. shower come on. With nothing else to do I grabbed my iPod and headphones and turned on the music I had been downloading all month. I didn't like normal songs. No all my song had little to no lyrics. Just sounds and noises. I loved it. I closed my eyes and turned the music up blocking everything else out.

I opened my eyes after a while and saw izzy looking at me. She had changed back into clothes but her hair was still wet and it was all on her left shoulder. "Sorry. I saw you listening to music. You looked peaceful. I didn't want to disturb you." She said quietly. "You didn't have to do that" I replied. She sat down on the bed. "Can I listen to some of it?" She asked. I nodded and handed her the headphones. "Here I'll show you my favorite song" I said and turned it on. Her face grew more and more excited as she listened to it. After it ended she looked over at me and said "that was awesome! What kind of music is it?" In truth I didn't know exactly what it was called. Something to do with electro. "Electro house I think" I said back to her. Just then my comm device rang. I quickly answered it. "Alex I need to talk to you about something urgent. Come to my office" max said and quickly hung up. I got up. "Hey where are you going?" Izzy asked. "Max's office, it's urgent. Come with me" I said and we both left.
