Alex pov:I stopped and turned the radio down. Then I thought about graymark. In a few hours I'd have to break into his house and steal his laptop to prove he was connected to it all. Max had told me to use whatever powers necessary to retrieve it and I had a plan. He would be sorry that he ever even thought of living. I grinned as I planned what I would do to him. Izzy reclined her chair back beside me and fell asleep. I however stayed up driving. Planning. As I drove into the night thinking of how I would take dark pleasure in destroying his mind I smiled. Before i had been terrified of him but now i knew i was powerful enough to kill him without him even touching me. I drove faster eager to get there.
Isabelle pov:
I dreamed of a river. Me and Alex were in its cold murky waters. The river was rushing downhill fast but it was shallow. Alex had my hand holding me and him against the brutal currents. I was amazed that he was able to stand and stay in place despite the roaring water, and he was holding me as well. Soon it got worse. The water rushing intensified. I felt Alex using all his strength to try and withstand it. But then his strength gave way and we were sucked under and we tumbled through the water. Suddenly it stopped. The river became icy calm. I got out of the water coughing and sputtering trying to get the water out of my lungs. I regained my breath as I started shivering from my soaked clothes. I looked beside me to see Alex's body. He was white and lay still, floating on top of the water. Dead.
I jolted awake. I was sweaty and felt hot all over. "What's wrong?" Alex asked beside me. "Bad dream." I told him. He nodded as if he expected this. "Well we're almost at graymarks house." He stated. The car was dark since it was around 4 in the morning so I couldn't see Alex's expression, but he seemed nervous. I grabbed his hand. "It'll be ok." I told him. He didn't say anything. Soon the car pulled into a dark alley way. Way up ahead I could see a large and spacious house. "What's the plan?" I asked him, starting to feel nervous myself. "We'll go in, you'll sneak around and find his laptop and I'll find him and keep him distracted. When you have the laptop find me and we'll leave." He said. He sounded sure of himself. "Will you be able to handle him by yourself?" I asked him. Every Time he got in a fight he seemed to get knocked out. "Yes." He said coldly. I no longer doubted him.
"Ok let's go then." I told him. We got out of the car. As we did I zipped up Alex's jacket, thankful that I had it to shelter me from the cold. We snuck up to his house. It was dark out and I couldn't see because the only light out was his porch light so I held onto Alex's arm. He could see in the dark. I could see his glowing purple eyes. Alex walked up to his front door with me in tow. He raised his hand in front of the door knob. I heard a small click and the door handle turned and opened on its own. Alex ushered me.
The house was too quiet. Alex put a finger to his mouth and motioned me to go find the laptop. We separated and the last thing I saw was his purple eyes scanning a hallway. I moved from the living room area (or at least I thought that's what it was) into a hallway with four doors, 2 on the left and 2 on the right. I opened the first left one as quietly as I could. Luckily it didn't squeak. I clicked on the light and quickly checked if it was in here. It was a storage room with various boxes stacked up in places. I shut the light off and shut the door. I turned to open the first right door. I turned on the light to find a large bedroom. But no one was in the bed. My blood chilled. Then I heard a voice down the hall. I shut off the light and thought about calling for Alex. No, I could do this. I shut the door without making a noise and proceeded to sneak to the second left door where I heard the voice coming from. I hadn't realized it before but the door wasn't shut all the way leaving me a small crack to peek through.
I saw a desk illuminated by a small lamp that was on a low setting. I no longer heard the voice. Maybe i had imagined it. Graymark may as well not even be here. But the light. I saw the laptop shut under its gaze. I gently pushed the door open. I looked to my left once I peeked my head in the doorway. No one was there. Then I looked to the right. And I looked right into the face of a man who looked like he wanted to murder the world. "I knew it was you two." General graymark said and before I could scream for Alex he grabbed my throat and threw my in the room. I heard the door click shut. I jumped up but he was faster. I watched as his fist connected with my jaw and I spun from the force of it. My jaw exploded in pain but I was able to open it and scream. "Alex!" I shouted. The force of the punch knocked me to the ground and graymark kicked me hard in my right side. The pain took my breath away. But he didn't stop. Three more times he kicked me in that same spot with enough force to move me. It felt like one of my ribs was being split in half. I couldn't even scream because I had no breath. When he finally stopped I clutched my side in pain. I got in the fetal position to try to shield myself, whimpering softly with tears streaming from my eyes.
