One Meeting Changes Everything (A Prince Harry Fanfiction)

That weekend up in the islands, they stop and stare

"The Prince of Wales would like to announce his relationship with Miss Rosalie Johnson."

"The couple made their first official appearance at the closing ceremony of the Invictus games just yesterday and were delighted with the positive reactions."

"They would like to ask the press to give them some alone time over the next few days."

"An official first interview will be given later."

"The Prince will be launching the #HeadsTogether campaign next week with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge."

"No word yet on Miss Rosalie joining them."

The heat hit me straight in the face but I couldn't help but feel happy. Harry and I had just landed in Hawaii and were walking to the car that would bring us to the hotel. 

The official announcement had been made by the palace just a few hours earlier, right after the Invictus closing ceremony. I had been scrolling through some of the comments and couldn't be happier. People were loving the fact that Harry was finally trying to settle down. 

"Have you seen this?" I said to Harry, settling down in the car and handing him my phone.

He nodded smiling. "Yes, they're being very nice to us. And don't worry about Heads Together, I still need to talk to Grandma about that."

I nodded lightly. Heads Together was the new campaign Harry, Kate & William were launching on the awareness of mental health. There would be a big official launch next week in London. 

When we arrived at our hotel in Kailua one of Harry's security guards checked us in while the car drove off to the little cottage we would be staying in. I had reserved a small basic room since we would be spending most of the time by the pool anyway.

"I must tell you something." Harry said, taking my hand when the car came to a stop. "I might have changed the reservation..." I looked outside the window and all I could see was paradise. It must have been the most beautiful cottage on the property and this was only the outside.

"But why?" I turned back to him.

"Just to make sure we're not being disturbed by unwanted guests." He was talking about the paparazzi and I could see where he was coming from. This holiday should be about us. This relationship had gone so fast over the past few weeks that we just didn't get time to enjoy each other and share private moments, just the two of us.

"I'm gonna pay you back for this." I said as I got out of the car before he could reply. Outside the cottage where two ladies waiting, one dressed more casual, the other in a nice pantsuit. Harry walked around the car, joining me.

"Welcome to the Four Seasons, I'm Cindy." The pantsuit woman said, extending her hand and shaking ours. "And this is Kala, she'll be at your service for the next week, if you need anything, just ask her." Cindy motioned to the other woman.

Kala stepped up to us, putting a Lei on both of us and smiled politely. "Welcome to Hawaii." I immediately liked Kala, not to straight forward and she had a kind face. I smiled gratefully at her.

I was reading my book by our little private pool when I suddenly felt water drops on my face.

"Oh no." I said, looking up a the sky. It was a clear blue with just some clouds. "Please don't rain on me now, Hawaii." I said sarcastically. When I didn't feel anything anymore I went back to my book, but a few seconds later, the water was back. I looked up properly this time. And there he was, my perfect man. He had been swimming for the past few minutes and was standing over me, completely wet.

"I think it's time for you to join me, beautiful." he said, walking around my lounge chair and taking my book from me, putting it down on the ground.

"Ooh really?" I raised one of my eyebrows and smiled.

Before I realized what was happening, he had lifted me off my chair and was walking towards the pool.

"Harry, no please, my hair." I screamed, wrapping my arms around his neck tightly and kicking my legs lightly. I nuzzled my face into his neck. "Pleaseeee." I begged him but he wouldn't have any of it.

The water was cold but very nice when my body got used to it. When we got up I was still in his arms and I wrapped my legs around his waist.

"You're so gonna pay for this." I smiled and he couldn't help but grin.

"I hope so." He laughed and pulled my face close, kissing me.

We had been in Hawaii for a few days now and it had just been amazing. Kala had made sure the fridge was stocked with food so we didn't need to go to the hotels restaurant to eat, which made the holiday even more private. Cooking with Harry had been quite the experience since he was not used to it at all. Warming up some soup or frying an egg was as far as his cooking skills went. We had enjoyed a private breakfasts and lunches on our terrace.

It was nice finally getting to know the real Harry. The one that wasn't in the spotlight. The one I now knew I liked more than anything in the world. I had come to the conclusion the other night when we were lounging outside watching the sunset. We were enjoying some wine and some small talk when it just hit me. He had been rubbing my leg softly, which were laid on his lap. 

"I like you." I had blurted out. His face had been worth a million bucks.

"Do you now?" He couldn't help but grin.

"Yes, I just realized." I said shyly. 

"I like you to, my little Rose." He took my hand and kissed it gently. "I wish we could stay here forever." He said looking around and I nodded.

"It's been pretty great."

"We can always come back."

"Yes we can." I smiled and leaned in to kiss him.
