Nate awakens back into reality. As the glass lid opens up, he quickly gets up. Doctor Amari blocks his way.
"Slow movements, okay?" she said. "I don't know what kind of side effects the procedure might have had. No one's ever...done this before. How do you feel?"
"I feel okay," said Nate. "Next time I want to watch someone's life story, I want popcorn."
"Well, if you're cognizant enough to joke, I think we can safely say that you're out of critical condition. Are you...ready to talk about what happened in there?"
"Well, this guy mentioned an Institute scientist named Brian Virgil escaped," said Nate. "He could know about the Institute."
"I didn't know Institute scientists could defect," said Amari. "This changes everything. He could answer all sorts of questions."
"He also did mention the Glowing Sea," said Nate. "That it's his hiding place."
"The Glowing Sea? That can't be right...no one would risk going there. Not even to hide!"
"That's why he's there," he said. "To make the Institute think twice about following him.
"That must be it!" said Amari. "He's using the radiation in the Glowing Sea like a shield or a...cloak...a way to throw them off and be at an advantage. If Virgil found a way to survive there, you'll have to do the same, if you're going to follow him."
"That's exactly what I'm going to do," said Nate. "Whatever's out there, it's not going to stop me just to get to my son."
"Good luck...and, be safe," said Amari. "Nick and the others should be waiting for you upstairs."
"Thank you for everything, Doctor Amari," said Nate. "I'll try to see what I can do to repay you."
"You're very welcome, young man," she smiled, "but there's no need. If you'll excuse me, I should be getting back to work. I have very busy things to do."
Nate nods and leaves her be. He goes back upstairs to find Nick and the others. Alex walks up to him.
"He's been acting weird," he said.
"Really?" Nate looks at Nick and walks over to him. "Hey Nick, you okay?"
"Hope you got what you were looking for inside my head," said Nick, weirdly in a familiar voice. "Heh. I was right. Should've killed you when you were on ice."
"Oh shit, Kellogg?!" asked Nate.
"Huh?! What?" asked Nick. "What're you talking about?"
"Nick you just sounded like Kellogg!" he said.
"We all heard it!" said Suzy.
"Did I?" asked Nick. "Hm. Amari said there might be some "mnemonic impressions" left over. Anyway, I feel fine."
"Oh, well good," said Nate. "Um, guys, I have to find this guy named Doctor Brain Vergil. He's in the Glowing Sea."
"What?!" asked Casey. "Why?! He could be dead by now!"
"Maybe so," said Nick, "but who knows he could be alive?"
"That's why I'm going there," said Nate, "to see if I can find him. If I can, he can tell me where I could find a way into the Institute. That way it could not only benefit me, but also you and your Brotherhood Casey."
"You're definitely right on that," she said.
"But how are you gonna be able to go there?" asked Alex. "The whole region's radiated."
