Dear Alex,
Here's the thing about Sean: he's hard to learn. When we were kids, learning how to talk, it was easy. We didn't need anyone to explain the definition of every word- it was just implied and we caught on. The word "is" always just meant "is" and no one had to tell us that it is the third person present singular indicative of "be."
Sean's language isn't like that. What he says isn't necessarily what he means, and sometimes he doesn't say anything, but he expects me to understand what he is thinking. I've always been good at reading body language, but the truth is, Sean's language is unpredictable.
But I guess that's the thing about you, too, isn't it? Because when you said, "I'll love you forever," it definitely didn't mean what I thought it meant.
Love,
Carrie
