Nov. 19
Dear Alex,
I slept like a log last night. I didn't dream and I didn't move- half my face was pressed red with pillow-wrinkles when I lumbered into the washroom, my bones and muscles aching. You were in there, but I really had to pee...
"Whoa!" You shouted. "What's going on? I thought we'd get married first, then I'd see you pee!"
"Married?" I said as I flushed and turned on the tap to wash my hands. I frowned at myself in the mirror and you took out a pill bottle and shook the last pill into the palm of your hand. You popped it in your mouth and chased it down with a mouthful of water.
"Are those important?" I asked. "Do you need to get more?"
"Just for allergies," you said lightly, and you left without another word.
Don't lie to me.
Love,
Carrie
