She got up early and got dressed. She made herself coffee and tossed Athena a dog treat. She put Athena in her kennel and walked out the door locking it behind her. She arrived at work earlier than usual and sat down at the desk waiting for Carter. She heard some laughing and the door swung open. There stood Carter kissing the bitchy girl from Starbucks. They giggled together and Rocky looked down at her phone. She unlocked it and put her earbuds in as she waited for them to finish. Finally he sat down at his desk. The girl followed and sat on his lap. Rocky pulled out her earbuds and got up walking over to Carter. The girl looked her up and down and smacked her gum as she whispered something to Carter.
"What do you need me to do?" Rocky said annoyed.
"Make me a dinner reservation for 2."
"That's it?"
"Also go to the jewelry store and get something nice for my lovely Petunia."
"Who is petunia?"
"Rocky meet petunia." Petunia held out her hand and Rocky ignored her.
"I've met her before."
"I know she told me how your dog bit her."
"Athena would never do such a thing!"
"Shut up before I get that stupid mutt put down!"
Rocky slapped him and grabbed the credit card out of her desk. She headed to the Walmart and bought the ugliest, cheapest earrings she could find. She laughed to herself as she paid for it. She wrapped them in a cheap paper bag and headed back to the office. Setting the bag down on Carter's desk she handed over the credit card.
"Finally you listen." He said taking the bag and putting it in a drawer in his desk. She did her work and went home early.
