The day finally arrived and she put on a long,sparkly,pink dress,with white heels,and a white pearl necklace . She put Athena in the back yard and waited for Carter. She couldn't believe that she had said yes to going on a date with him. She heard a loud beep and walked towards the front door. Walking out she locked the door behind her. She walked towards his car and he opened the door for her. She hopped in and he drive away from her house. "You look beautiful." "Thank you." "Look I'm sorry ok? I want to be friends with you at least. I can't get you out of my head." "Fine. Just friends." He smiled as he drove towards a beautiful restaurant. They sat down and ordered there food. It was really awkward cause they sat silent until the food arrived. They ate their food and Carter drove Rocky home. "I feel really bad. I don't feel any kind of spark with you like I did before. I feel nothing towards you. I'm sorry." Carter nodded his head and drove away leaving Rocky at the foot steps leading into her house. The snow began to fall and she ran to unlock the door and let Athena inside. Putting a warm blanket around Athena she closed the glass door behind her. She made herself a cup of hot chocolate and sat on the couch listening to the snow fall and the fireplace crackle. She couldn't bear sitting still any longer so she hopped up and put Athena's leash on her. She quickly changed into her north face jacket and some warm jogging pants. She ran towards her car and waited for it to warm up. Her thoughts drifted to her feelings about Carter. Why didn't she feel anything towards him? She snapped back into reality and drove down the snow covered road. Stopping in front of the animal shelter she tugged at Athena's leash and pulled her inside. "Hello!" "Hi!" "Are you here to abandon your dog?" "No! I love Athena! I am here looking for a play pal for her." "I see. Well we only have a couple dogs that are allowed to be adopted today." "Where are they?" "Go down the hallway to the left. Any dog you see with a Christmas outfit on is adoptable." "Thank you so much!" She walked down the hallway and turned left. She laughed at all the dogs covered in Christmas decor. She smiled looking at a Newfoundland with red antlers who was asleep against the glass.

Athena barked and sat down and she nodded. She walked towards the main office and dinged the bell, waiting for the receptionist. Out of nowhere the receptionist appeared. "Find anything?" "Yes I found 1." "Ok. Which dog?" "The Newfoundland." "Great choice! I think you'll find you made a great decision." Rocky nodded and sat down waiting for her new pets.
