Looking for love

Chapter 33

She woke up the next morning feeling great. She hopped out of bed and made her and Carter some coffee. She toasted some bagels and brought Carter breakfast in bed. Carter laughed and pulled her in for a kiss.
"You didn't have to!" He said trying to hold in his laughter. She nodded her head in response and pulled him in for a long kiss. They pulled away and he looked into her eyes.
"Thank you."
They ate their breakfast quietly and got dressed. They did the best to match each other. He wore a navy blue suit and she wore a galaxy dress with black knee high stockings. She threw her hair in a messy side pony tail and headed out the door. They kissed and headed opposite ways. She arrived at work and everybody asked about her absence. Finally she set her stuff down in her office and undid Athena's leash (Carter started taking bear to work with him since they bonded so well). She was surprised when she found ALL of her paper work done in a neat stack. Ranae walked through the door and they pulled in for a hug.
"Glad you feel better!"
"Thanks! I really appreciate your hard work and I think you deserve a raise!"
"Really?"
"Yes."
Ranae jumped up and down and pulled Rocky in for a hug again. Letting her go Ranae giggled and sat down at her desk.  Hours later they headed out for lunch. Her and Ranae were enjoying themselves when they heard yelling outside. Rocky pulled the waiter a side and asked him what was going.
"There is a man screaming and yelling about someone named Ranae not replying to his texts."
Ranae looked at her phone and screamed in her cupped hands. She ran her fingers through her hair and stood up.
"I got to go"
"No wait let me pay I'll come with you."
"Ok."
Rocky paid and they walked outside together. A boy with greasy red hair and devilish hazel eyes walked towards Ranae. He grabbed her arm and tried pulling her away from Rocky. To his surprise Rocky slapped him and pushed him away from Ranae.
"Leave her alone!" Rocky said putting Ranae behind her. Ranae tried to talk but Rocky shushed her and walked towards the boy.
"Listen here fella, you are going to leave my best friend alone or I'm going to have someone hunt you down and cut your dick off when you're  sleeping. Now go!" The boy scrambled off out of side and Ranae looked at Rocky surprised.
"What was that?"
"Somebody had to stand up for you. That boy was no good. I'm sorry but I lo-"
"Thank you"
"Your welcome. I love you."
They hugged before walking back to work.
