~ The Next Day ~

I finished packing my stuff and was about to leave as I heard a knock on the door.
Annoyed I rolled my eyes and made my way down the corridor of my suite.
"Yes?", I opened it and immediatelly regretted it.
"Wait, don't close it Diane...", Michael mumbled dropping his foot right between the frame and the door itself.
"What do you want?"; I asked glaring at him.
I desperatelly just wanted to break down in tears, but I don't gave him this satisfaction.
Instead of I let him in, "But make it short...", I murmur under my breath.
"I promise", he told me before sitting down on the couch.

I took a deep breath, "Ok, say what you need to say" I replied, "And then leave, I have to get my plane in time".
"Ok", he shifted in his seat and looked at me, "First, I want to apologize, but look at yourself Diane...", he said.
"You've changed immensely through all those years".
"Where did your dark long hair go?, or your beautiful light blue eyes?", he spoke and somehow I felt sorry for shutting him out this way.
"I just couldn't take it anymore, everytime I looked at myself in the mirrow I saw you Michael", I whispered playing with my fingers, I didn't dare to look at him as I finally said what I've sworen to myself that he never should've known.
"I saw our baby, and I saw you, and I deeply knew that I couldn't bring both back into my life, ok...", my voice cracked at the end and I burst out into tears.
"What?", I heard his soft voice shaking as it echoed through my ears.

"You got it right", I sniffed finally locking his eyes with mine, "I lost our angel a couple of weeks after I went back home".
"Diane, I...", he wasn't even able to speak.
"It's okay", I cut him off, "I have to leave anyway".
"Oh and one last thing Michael, do you really love Lisa?", I paused, "Do you want to marry her one day?".
He swallowed hard not even having the urge to answer me.
"You're thinking about this way too long", I stood up and grabbed my stuff.
"You know what?, there's only one true love in the life of ourselves, the one who loves you completely no matter what".
I replied, "May Lisa be the one for you, but I knew back then, and I still know it for now that you were the one for me".
I opened the door and walked out.
"Diane wait... please", he begged but the elevator door already closed itself.

~At The Airport~

Slunging my bag over my shoulder I made my way to the plane.
I never thought that it would end like this, going to a concert, only for the one I dreamed about and never forget.
And now all I want to do is forget everything that happened in the past five years
Daring one last look out of the window of my plane, I let my view wander across the flight area and the large airport waiting station, as all of a sudden I saw Michael running straight into the room pressing himself against the window to look for me.
In his one hand my necklace intertwined with his fingers and a tear stained expression on his face.
I slightly touched the part on my jaw where the necklace pendant always connected with my skin.
"Keep it Michael...", I whispered to myself.
"I guess I don't need it anymore"
