"Sophia, why'd you leave before I got back?" Carter asked as he ran to catch up with her.

"Sorry about that. My mom called and wanted us home," she replied, staring straight ahead, not bothering to glance at him. He started to slow down, confused by her change in attitude.

"Did my mom kick you out?" he asked and she came to an abrupt stop.

"No, no, no, no!" She turned to look at him. He frowned a bit, upset. "I had stuff I had to deal with at home." It wasn't a lie. The Headmaster had contacted her again and started questioning her as to why she hung up and why she would answer her Imparter in front of Blaze.

"Well, if you say so... Are you guys gonna come over today?" Sophia thought back to what Olivia said and she shook her head.

"I-" Her phone started to ring, and Sophia felt her pockets before pulling it out. "Hello?" She held up her finger, motioning for him to give her a minute.

"Sophia, you're still gonna come to the party, right?" Desiree asked, her voice echoing through the phone.

"Uh, yeah. Why?" Sophia asked.

"You have to leave tomorrow. Remember, you can't just teleport here. It'll take you a few days to travel here and the party is in one week. Kaydence has been asking about you."

"I completely forgot about that..." Sophia let out a sigh as she let what Desiree said, sink in. "Wait, if we leave tomorrow, we'll still show up a couple of days early. Isn't there a time difference?" A time difference was an understatement. One day in human time was one week in Fairy time.

"It's not that big of a difference. Besides-"

"Not that big of a difference? Going by that time, we'd be there for-" Sophia quickly cut herself off when she remembered Carter was still waiting, right in front of her.

"Lady Kaydence wants your help in decorating since she's not allowed to help. She wants the one person she looks up to, to help plan her party." Sophia narrowed her eyes, and she let out a small growl.

"I hate when you say stuff like that..." She stayed quiet for a minute before answering. "Fine, but don't tell her that I'm gonna show up early. I want it to be a surprise."

"Yay! Okay, see you later."

"Yeah, yeah." Sophia rolled her eyes as she clicked the end button on her phone. She went to put it up, but froze. How did she call me from the Fairy realm? she asked herself as she stared at her phone.

"So?"

"Huh?" Sophia looked up at Carter, unsure of what he was talking about until she remembered their conversation. "Oh! Uhm, we can't come over today. We won't be able to come over til sometime next week. We have to get to a party, which is so far away, you could almost say it was in a different world entirely." She mumbled the last part, and he raised an eyebrow.

"So, you're leaving?"

"Just for a week. We'll be back though. I'll talk to you more about it at lunch. I have to get to class." Carter nodded and Sophia turned around and walked off. He watched as her figure disappeared down the hall before heading to class himself.

Sophia shoved her dress and flats into her bag and zipped it up. She swung it over her shoulder with a sigh as she walked out of her room. "You guys ready?" she called out as she switched off her light and shut the door. Iris ran up beside and the wind from her coming to an abrupt stop sent Sophia reeling.

Iris let out a small laugh as Sophia regained her balance.

"Do you really have to use your vampire speed inside?" she asked, irritation lurking into her voice.
