Sophia yawned as she walked back into the house with Iris following her. They headed for Sophia's room. The afternoon light poured in through the living room windows as they passed through. They walked down the hall and up the stairs. Once they got onto the second floor, they passed through the living room down the hall. Sophia reached her door and grabbed the doorknob. She turned it and a clicking sound echoed down the hall as she swung open the door. Sophia walked in and her eyes widened in bewilderment.
"You turned my room into a computer paradise," said Sophia gaping at the big computer set up against the wall and the three laptops on stands that came out of the wall.
"Don't worry. It can all be hidden. I just set up my hacking computer. I mean, I can hack on anything, but I prefer my computer that has everything on it," replied Zander as he scrolled through the school's database. "I set up my laptop to do the same stuff, so I can carry it around. I also made them waterproof. Your customary laptop cases are on your beds. While I was at it, I pulled the extras out of the wall."
"Anything else?" Iris asked walking over to her bed. She jumped up and caught hold of the side instead of using the ladder. She pulled her petite figure up onto the bed in a sitting position. She grabbed her computer and switched it on. "Well, while we're in here, I'm gonna go download-"
"Already did it."
"Should have known." Sophia opened her laptop and turned it on. Her name popped up and she typed in her usual password that she had for everything. She pulled up a website and typed in the secret passcode. It took her to the official Magical Races website. She began scrolling through her own account. Her eyes drifted to Zander, who was concentrated on his computer. Several tabs of surveillance was pulled up on his laptop and he watched the teachers. His short, spiked, silver hair was disheveled as he concentrated his blue eyes on the screen. His black t-shirt was wrinkled from being against the chair.
She clicked on a link and it pulled up werewolf packs and their locations. She searched through them until she found the Moon Stone pack. She clicked on it and it pulled up pictures of every pack member, including the Alpha and Beta. She clicked on the Alpha's photo and it pulled up the Alpha's relatives. She began scrolling down til she found his son, the successor. She clicked on his picture and a big 'X' appeared on her screen. She narrowed her eyes.
"Zander, I need you to hack into the son of the Alpha's profile on magicalraces.com," Sophia said and Zander began typing. After a minute, he glanced back at her.
"You're in," he informed as the 'X' on her screen disappeared. His profile pulled up and she began scrolling. Name: Blaze Akins. Age: 17. Gender: Male. Attends: Blackwood High. Grade: Junior. Affiliation: Quarterback. Rank: Soon to be Alpha. Hair color: Black. Eye color: Green. Race: Werewolf.
"He's three years older than me," she mumbled. "Zander send me the link to Carter's profile." Sophia scrolled back up to Blaze's picture. He was winking at the camera, a huge smile on his face. His straight, white teeth could be seen a little bit. His black hair fell in his face bit giving him a bad boy kind of look along with wearing a leather jacket and black jeans; his green eyes stared at something past the camera. Sophia raised an eyebrow as she zoomed in a bit. In the background she noticed a little girl. She clicked the back button and a message popped up on her screen. She clicked on the link and it pulled up another tab with Carter's profile on it. She went back to the first tab and scrolled through the Alpha's family profiles.
She finally reached the bottom and found the yougest one's profile. She clicked it and looked at the profile picture. She zoomed in to get a better look. She then realized that in the background was the girl's brother getting his picture taken. The two profile pictures had been taken at the same time. Sophia zoomed in some more to try and get a good look at the photographer, photographing Blaze. The image became blurry, and she copied the URL and sent it to Zander.
"Find out who the person is behind the camera in the background," Sophia said as she moved back over to Carter's profile. Name: Carter Jones. Age: 17. Gender: Male. Attends: Blackwood High. Grade: Junior. Affiliation: N/A. Rank: Loser. Hair color: Light brown. Eye color: Stormy blue. "This is gonna be difficult." Sophia's eyes flickered around the screen and she bookmarked the page. She clicked on the second tab and continued scrolling through the Alpha's family. She memorized every face she seen and then clicked back. She typed in her own name and her profile pulled up. She clicked it and it pulled up a picture of her at the academy.
Name: Sophia Davis. Age: 14. Gender: Female. Attends: Hunter Academy; Blackwood High (rouse). Grade: Freshman. Affiliation: Hunter. Rank: N/A. Hair color: Dark brown. Eye color: Brown. "It seems they have everything on me," she muttered with a sigh. "If the wolf pack learns our names, there's no doubt they'll look us up."
"Don't worry about that," said Iris jumping off of her bed. She walked over to Sophia's bed, her feet not making a sound on the carpet floor. She jumped up to Sophia's bed and grabbed the laptop. "So, what did you find?"
"Well, Carter's a loser in the school. We also have to worry about Blaze, the Alpha's son. He's a junior like Carter. I think the Moon Stone pack is keeping an eye on Carter and his mom because they're werewolves. Blaze will be able to tell what we are just by our scents, so we gotta be careful. Avoid being with a werewolf alone. We're all able to tell if they're werewolves or not, so be on your guard. They might think we're the enemy and attack."
"Anything else?" Zander asked turning in his chair to look at the two girls.
"Nope, not really."
"All right. Let's go shopping!" said Iris jumping off the bed. She bolted out of the room before Sophia had a chance to say a word.
"Looks like we have no choice. Let's go shopping!" Sophia said in mock enjoyment. She jumped off the bed and headed for the door. On her way to the door, she grabbed Zander's wrist and pulled him up and out of the room with her. They ran down the stairs and out to the garage, where Iris was already in the extended cab truck. The engine roared to life and Sophia ran forward and yanked open the door.
Iris began backing out as the door flew open. Zander dove into the front seat as Iris pulled out of the garage. The door closed as Iris stopped and started down the road. Sophia ran after it and jumped. She caught hold of the tailgate and flipped into the bed. Her back slammed onto the floor, her breath getting knocked out of her. She started coughing as she sat up and crawled over to the window. She slid it open.
"You're an ass," said Sophia as she crawled in.
"Thanks. I try."
"We know!"
