Chapter 11
Right after leaving the flat, I had decided on getting some lunch before I left on the train to my parent's house. I didn't want to get on the train for a long time without food. I had stopped at a random restaurant/fast food joint near the train station. I had decided I was feeling a bit overly British today and ordered the classically stereotypical Fish and Chips. I ate and tried not to think about what I was doing and where I was heading.
I had decided to take my seat outside since it was only a little chilly. I like the weather like this. Where it makes your skin cold, but it's not so cold you're shivering.
I finished quicker than I had wanted to. I think part of me really didn't want to stay in London. However, staying in London would mean being close to Dan - too close to Dan.
Just because I was running away from Dan, doesn't mean I've forgotten my newly discovered feelings. Part of me still hopes I am straight and that this might be a faze, but it's not looking or feeling like that at the moment.
I threw away my trash and gathered my stuff. I had a small suitcase and a little synch-sac carrying my wallet, phone, laptop, lion, and a book. I couldn't leave lion there, especially since I didn't know when or if I might come back to get the rest of my belongings.
I found my phone to check the time and find the next train I could catch.
I pressed the little home button to see what time it was when I noticed something else on the screen.
It was a text. From Dan.
'I want to explain if you'll give me the chance please. I can fix this I'm coming to Rossendale - I assume that's where you went...? I hope so'
No, this is not good. Dan can't follow me! That's not part of my plan! I could just travel to somewhere other than Rossendale... except I don't have enough money with me to last long enough to figure something out. Do I stay in London maybe and when ever he comes back I leave?
What do I do!?
Just then the screen lit up with another text.
'Scratch that - going to the hospital, may be awhile... fell free to visit (St. Thomas I think??)'
What. He's going to the hospital!? I wanted to text back why or how bad it was.
What had happened? Maybe he was on his way to find me and didn't pay attention and got hit by a car? I hope no- Wait... This is my fault.
Oh God Dan might be dying right now and it's all my fault.
What do I do!?
"AMAZINGPHIL!" I turned my head in the direction of a short brunette that had the tips of her brown hair dyed red.
I looked over at her trying to seem ok when I really needed to figure something out. "Hi." I said not able to function enough to say more than that.
I snapped out of my daze right then so I didn't come off rude. "I'm sorry, do you want a hug?" I asked as she came closer.
"Ohmygoshyes!" She said so fast it really blended into one word. I hugged her and smiled at her when we came apart.
"What's your name?" I asked trying to make this more about her than me.
"I'm Chloe! I can't believe it's you! I didn't know you would be out today!" Said Chloe as I realized she didn't have a British accent. Chloe was American.
"Haha yeah, I didn't know either. Are you visiting from America?" I asked feeling each second tick by painfully slow.
"Yes! I live in Arizona! Wait where's Dan?" She asked.
