Garroth's POV

He was doing it.. He finally was. We'd known his plan for about a week or two. Everyone who was around me on the hill was braced for her answer, as Laurence got down on his knee, and opened the ring box. "Aphmau... Will you marry me?" We all remained completely silent, awaiting her reply.. At last, she replied, a smile forming in her lips. "...Y-Yes!" she said, and everyone started cheering. "YOU GO MAN!" I yelled, laughing. Dante yelled something like that, and he was still flipping out. The girls were in a huddle, bouncing and squealing. We were still spazzing with excitement...

Laurence's POV

I slid the ring on her finger, and she knocked me down in a hug, the tears rolling down her cheeks. I hugged her back, trying not to tear up. "I love you so much.." she muttered, her voice muffled by my sleeve. She was running her fingers through my hair, and I was grinning like crazy. "I love you too.." she pulled up, then kissed me. I kissed back, melting into the kiss. Suddenly something whizzed past our ears. Aphmau pulled back, and I turned my head. There was an arrow imbedded in the ground about five inches away from my head. "Laurence, Aphmau! RUN!" Garroth yelled. Aphmau jumped up, pulling me with her, and we took off. Looking back was a mistake, because as the arrows zipped past us, one didn't miss. It thankfully only got me in the shoulder, but I yelled out in pain. "Aphmau, don't worry about- Gah!- about me! Just k-keep running!" I yelled, as she looked back, her eyes wide. She nodded, and sped up, and I stayed at the same speed, supposedly slowing down. "LAURENCE!" The girls screamed. Garroth pulled his sword out of his scabbard, and ran down to guard me, as Dante ran down to guard Aphmau. "Girls! GET IN THE HOUSE!" Garroth yelled. We were able to get inside the house with no-one but me hurt, but I had to sit down, somewhat dizzily. All I really cared about at the moment was everyone's safety and the throbbing, burning in my shoulder. "Zoey, come up here please! Boys.. Go upstairs." Aphmau said, as Garroth and herself walked over to me. I sighed, wincing. The boys ran upstairs, and went inside their room. Dante had already locked the doors, glancing back and forth from the windows. Zoey whispered something to Garroth, then to the girls. The girls nodded, and went downstairs. "Okay Garroth..." Zoey said, and then she told Aphmau something, lowering her voice. Aphmau sat in my lap for some reason, then she kissed me, grabbing my hand. "I'm so sorry..." Garroth whispered. Then he started pulling the arrow out, and I gripped Aphmau's hand, crying out in pain. (Aph's power didn't work this time) I think the arrow was out, because Aphmau pulled back, and she got off of me. "Just think happy things.. We're engaged.. Oh. Girls, you can come back up if you want." Aphmau said, as she helped my pull my shirt off. She tossed it in the hamper, and Zoey walked around with some bandages and medical supplies. Lauren ran upstairs and hugged me tight. The girls had to pry her off of me so Zoey could tend to my wound. She had gotten a damp rag, some potions, and some alcohol. "Hang in there, bro." Garroth said. "Dem abs tho." Lauren said, and Brook whacked her for me. Everyone in the room laughed a bit, then Zoey started cleaning my wound. I winced every now and then, but soon she got to the bandages. She had wrapped my shoulder up, then noticed some cuts and scars from the battle earlier. I rolled my eyes as she attended those, and then wrapped a bandage around my chest. Pretty soon I was in a sling-like thingy, and all I had for a shirt was some bandages and a sling. "Am I hotter than that Aaron guy?" I asked with a smirk. "Maybe a little." Aphmau said. "Nope." Brook said, and started giggling. I snickered, and carefully stood up. "It's almost midnight, we should be getting to bed.." Zoey said. Everyone nodded, and the girls went downstairs. Aphmau went back upstairs with me, and Garroth and Dante stayed where they were, Dante nodding off at the table, and Garroth watching him with a smile. "Go on to bed, I'll stay on post tonight with Dante. Maybe prank em a bit." Garroth said, and I smiled and nodded. We went into Aphmau's bedroom, and Momma Aphmau kicked in. She helped me get in bed comfortably, and then tucked me in like a kid. "What are you doing?" I asked her, and she giggled and replied. "Making sure you're comfy and okay." "Aww.. I forgot to be stubborn." I said, and she giggled and snuggled into bed with me. After a few minutes we were both asleep, and for the first time in a while, I snored.
