26 : Naughty Him

Averyn's POV

   It was Saturday night and we were spending our time at the swimming pool. Dania's house was a mansion. She got a karaoke room, swimming pool and even an arcade. We had our dinner just now and I sat on a beach chair near the pool in my grey shirt and grey sweatpant. Darren and Harry were having a swimming competition and made me laughed as Darren splashed water when he realize he lost.

   He walked out from the pool in his wet shorts and hair, of course shirtless. I couldn't stop myself from staring at his well-defined abs. He grabbed a towel and dried his hair, before sat at the end of my feet. He looked at me with a pout. I raised my eyebrow watching him."What?" I asked.

   "Don't you want to join?" I shook my head off. He gave me puppy eyes and almost made me want to kiss him. Okay, I'm not fancy about exposing my skin. I mean, I'm not going to swim with sweatpant, right? At least I need to wear shorts. I looked at giggling Helen and Dania who were comfortable enough in their bikini. "Please,"he pleaded. I stared at his eyes and nodded my head after debating myself. "I'll change first," I said, standing up to change my sweatpant into shorts. I'll keep my shirt on just in case.

   After changed into my black sport shorts which luckily I packed along in the room, I walked back to the swimming pool and saw all four of them already in the swimming pool,throwing beach ball around. I carefully stepped into the pool,gasped as Darren's arm slipped into my waist. He lead me to join other but before I started wet my hair, I tied it in a very messy high bun.

   We started swimming in the pool, sharing random jokes and stories when my mind snapped about Nathan and Helen. I looked at her, with Darren's hand wrapped my waist. "How about Nathan,Helen?" I asked with a smirk.Dania and Harry who were acting sweet stopped their action and turned their gazes towards Helen. Helen scratched the back of her neck,grinning nervously.

   "He asked either I can help him study for Chemistry. Then,we changed number. But, we didn't text yet," she cleared. I splashed some water on her,signing that I was so excited about seeing them together."Another couple forming in this group," Dania shrieked in excitement. As the mention of couple, I looked at Darren. We exchanged stares and I slowly crooked my lips in a smile. He flashed a forced smile before start swimming around.

   After spending some times floating in the swimming pool, I stepped out from there. I sat on the edge of the swimming pool but kept my legs soaked in the swimming pool. I watched as four of them playing around. I looked up to the dark sky filled with stars. I jumped as I felt something touched my bare thighs. I looked down and saw a grinning Darren. His wet hair looked attractive and made me smile.

   "Are you okay?" he asked, his hands placed on my thighs. My stomach clenched by his actions but I tried to look calm."Yeah. I'm good," I answered.

   Actually I'm not. I'm thinking about relationship that will end in three weeks. After that,we'll turn back to our friendship's term. No kissing,cuddling, and over skinship. I'm 100% sure that I felt in love with you but I don't know either you feel the same or not.Your sweet gestures confused me either it's just an act or what. I'm afraid if I confessed that I love you, you'll laugh at me. Then, being as awkward as I am, our friendship will end just like that. I can't stare at your magical brown eyes,ruffle your hot dark brown hair or smell your attractive scent anymore. I am not sure how should I end all of this thing. Either by spilling my heart out or keep our friendship. Can't you just tell me your feelings towards me? Oh, you did. You said you love me at the locker when you said I jealous about you and Jennifer. But, what's the truth behind those sweet words? Only you know it.

   Without I noticed, Darren already sat beside me, leaving out from the swimming pool."We're going to watch movie after this. So, do you want to change clothes now?" he asked.I snapped out from my thought,nodding my head.vDarren already stood up and he reached out his hand to held me up. I grabbed his hand and we wrapped ourselves in the towel before walking upstairs.

   I helped Dania prepare snacks for movies. Two big bowls filled with caramel popcorns, two bowls of chips,two plates of cookies, and 5 cans of soft drink set on the dining table. Helen showed up in black shorts and blue shirt.Her iPhone was in her hand and I guessed Nathan did text her. "Nathan texted you?" I asked. Her blue eyes widen as she didn't expect me to guess it right. Dania who was washing her sticky hands looked at Helen with amused. "Really?" Dania asked. Helen nodded her head shyly. Both Dania and me squealed as Helen told us that Nathan asked her out tomorrow's night.

   Darren and Harry stepped into the kitchen with worried looks. "Why? Anything wrong,babe?" Harry asked. Darren's eyebrows furrowed as our eyes met. "Nothing. Just got news that Nathan asked Helen to date," Dania chirped. Helen narrowed her eyes. Darren and Harry sighed in relieve.They looked at Helen and gave her a smile.

   The way boys and girls acted about this thing are so different.

   I placed two bowls of popcorn in Darren's hands while two plates of cookies to Harry, ordered them to put it on the table in the living room.I brought two bowl of chips while Dania and Helen brought soft drinks to the living room. I placed it on the table and my waist dragged by a pair of familiar arms. I plopped beside Darren who was giving a boyish smile, not apologizing for his action.

   We decided to watch Maze Runner: Scorch Trials. I started digging into food on the table,but my eyes still focused on Dylan O' Brian and HongKi Lee.Darren placed his arm behind my head, his other hand around my stomach. I bent down to grab a handful of popcorns and as I leaned back,my purple shirt raised exposing an inch of my stomach. Instead of covering it,Darren placed his hand on my bare stomach, and seriously, I saw he hid his smile. He rubbed his thumb on my stomach and I gave him a death glare.

   "Are you interrupted with this?" he asked with lifted eyebrows. I groaned and focus on the TV.

   Well, you know. I couldn't.
