20 : The Mastermind

Darren's POV

   I drove my car as the night ended. Averyn felt asleep beside me, silence filled the car. I glanced on her sometimes to make sure I didn't interrupted her sleep. But mostly, my eyes stared on her bare legs.

   She looks amazing in those clothes. It was rare to see a girl not wearing a dress to a dance party but Helen and Dania did a good job pairing the blouse and skirt on V. Tonight was the first time she wears something that reveal her smooth legs in front of others. It was also impossible to watch her wearing shorts. I admit that I got jealous when I caught some boys staring at her just now.She is mine and I didn't like sharing. Maybe I should forbid her from wearing anything like this more. Except when she dating with me.

   It has been more than two weeks we acted like a couple.I  knew that the whole plan aiming to find our true feelings but during those times, I figured out that I already fall in love with her.Really in love with her. Not as my bestfriend, but as a lover. I found myself couldn't stop wrapping my arms around his waist, to protect her. To kiss her every time I got chance, to show how much I love her. I couldn't tell the exact time my heart attached to her, but I know the feeling was real. I love Averyn.

   I was sure that she acknowledged my kisses and sweet gesture to her were an act.For her, I was just trying to copy what a couple did. But deep down,I really wanted to. I didn't know if I should tell her my true feelings now or after the two months ended. I didn't want to force her loving me as I am, but I would give it a try. Love shouldn't be forced, or else you couldn't taste the happiness. I'll follow the flow in the time being,and see where it will lead.

   I parked my cark in front of her house, tapping her cheeks lightly to wake her up. "V. We're already home," I said. She moved a bit,crossing her arms with closed eyes. She must be so tired with the performance and dealing with those high heels. I wad sure her legs will be sore tomorrow. I walked out from the car, opened the passenger's door and decided to lift her in a bridal way. She wrapped her arms around my neck, as I lifted her.

   Averyn's mom, Brenda opened the door, probably hearing my car in her driveway. "She's sleeping?" she asked. I nodded my head,walking in the house. I walked upstairs, to her room and Brenda opened the door. I put her on the bed, and Brenda sighed reliefly."She's not drunk, right?" she asked."Nope. She safe," I answered. I looked at Averyn for few minutes,before shifting my eyes to Brenda.Surely Averyn inherited her mom's beauty.

   "Do you want to have a drink first?" she offered. I nodded my head and we both headed downstairs to the kitchen after leaving Averyn's room silently. I sat on a chair while Brenda poured me a glass of orange juice.She poured for herself too, and sat opposite with me. "How's the night?" she asked. I took a sip of the juice before answering her question.

  "She sang amazing. I'm sure you'll find the video in Internet sooner."

   "Glad to hear it. No one try to hit on her, right? I mean, she wore dress which is a rare of her."

   I shook my head off." I protected her," I said.

   "Guess you love her too much?" she chirped with a smirk.

   I gave her a weak smile,wondering what kind of love she talked about. But however, I love Averyn as a bestfriend and as a lover.

   "Her birthday will be in 10 days.Do you have any plan?" she exclaimed.

   "I'm not sure yet. Maybe a surprise party," I chirped.

   "I've got an idea," Brenda shrieked.

   And that night, we spent around 15 minutes for the plan. I knew it was sound ridiculous but I could figure out what I want from her during that time. Yes, I was sure.
