25 : We're Only Fake

Averyn's POV

  It was lunchtime and we already sat in our usual table. I sat beside Darren while Dania and Harry were sitting in front of us. We were digging our lunch while waiting for Helen to show up. In few moments,she appeared with her lunch.She sat beside me and I gave her a smile.

   We talked about our sleepover. Dania declared that all of us will be in her house tomorrow's morning and stay until Sunday's evening. She planned a lot of things for us -mostly for girls- and we were excited with it. "Tell us about Jennifer so the sleepover wouldn't ruin," Dania stated in serious tone.

   I stared at Darren's brown eyes and I could tell that he was nervous because all of them staring at him. I gave him a supportive smile and playing with my lunch, my eyes glued on the table.

   "We walked out from the school yesterday when suddenly Jennifer showed up.She explained that she lost a bet with her friends. As a result, she needs to kiss me or something bad will happen. I felt sorry for her so I agreed.It's not a long kiss, just a peck. I saw her friends sneaking on us behind the bushes so I followed the flows. When I arrived this morning, Jennifer thanked me for not making her stripping herself and walked at the nearby park last night. I made her crystal and clear that nothing will happen afterwards between me and her just because the kiss. In fact, I told her that I'm dating with V." Darren cleared and by his last word, he side-hugged me.

   "Are you there when all this crap happened, Ave?" Helen asked with frown. I looked at her and nodded my head weakly. "How stupid are you to watch your boyfriend kissing another girl in front of your eyes?" Dania exclaimed angrily.

   I felt really stupid with broken hearts.

   "Don't blame her. I'm the one who asked her to stay," Darren stated. I let out a sigh as the tension in the air going thicker."Guys. I know both of us were wrong. But chill, okay? Our relationship only a fake one.Don't overreacting. I didn't feel anything at all," I lied again. Of course it's hurt me. Why? Because I already felt in love with him.

   I saw Harry rubbed Dania's shoulder to cool down her while Helen shook her head off."Oh. Anyway, how long you guys have till the two month end?" Helen asked. I looked at Darren for answer but he shrugged his shoulders off."Check the date of the photo we took when they wore the couple shirt. Anyway, I'm sorry for overreacting. I just can't handle it," Dania muttered. "It's fine," Darren and I said in unison. Helen pulled out her iPhone and after few moments,she looked at us.

   "Around 3 more weeks," she cleared. I looked at Darren with lifted eyebrows and he replied it with a pout. I laughed at his reaction and then a figure appeared at out table. I looked over and glanced at Helen who was already shocked. It was Nathan. I smirked as Nathan scratched his eyebrows nervously. "Hi!" he waved. All of us greeted him back.

   "Can I talk with you,Helen?" he asked. Hiding our own smile, I nodded my head while Dania gave him a grin. Both Darren and Harry looked like protective brothers of Helen,but didn't show it. I saw Helen blushed and quickly threw her lunch and started walking away with Nathan after excused herself. "I guess we know where this will lead," I shrieked in excitement.
