The next day McGonagall informs the entire house of a mandatory meeting and for all the house to proceed to her classroom.

"We can't all be in trouble, can we?" George asks Fred and I as we walk down.

"Dunno mate.. Guess we'll see." Fred says.

"Alright everyone, boys to the left, girls to the right." McGonagall says as we all pile in to see chairs on either side of the room.

Fred and I make eye contact and just shrug to each other, not really knowing what's going on.

"The Yule ball has been a tradition of the Tri-Wizard Tournament since its inception. On Christmas Eve night we and our guests gather in the Geat Hall for well mannered frivolity. As representatives of the host school I expect each and every one of you to put your best foot forward, and I mean this literally because the Yule ball is first and foremost...a dance."

As she says this a collective groan can be heard from the boys' side of the room, while most of the girls' side is full of squeals and giggles. Now it makes sense why Dad sent the dress..

"Quiet. The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizard world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in the course of a single evening besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons."

She finishes and I have to repress a giggle at her words. Glancing up at Fred to see him and George also laughing at her words.

"Now to dance is the let the body breathe, inside every girl a swan slumbers longing to take flight. And inside every boy, a lordly lion waiting to prance. Mr. Weasley will you join me?" At that poor Ron looks afraid as his brothers snigger behind him.

"Now," she says after she's managed to get him up. "Place your right hand on my waist." She says causing me and the boys to hold back our laughter.

"Where?" He asks mortified.

"My waist." He places his hand where requested making Fred wolf whistle from the boys side of the room.

"Now Mr. Filch if you will." He walks over to a massive record player and starts up some old dance music.

"One, two, three. One, two, three." She counts the steps of the dance. I'm going to fail hard core at dancing..

"Everybody come together now." McGonagall calls, and all the girls stand immediately while the boys stay seated.

"Boys, on your feet." She says and Neville is the first to stand and approach someone for a dance.

Soon after I stand, not wanting to be called out by the teacher, and surprisingly Fred meets me quite soon after.

"May I have this dance?" He asks as I place my hand in his.

"Of course." I say with a smile and soon enough we're spinning on the makeshift dance floor.

"Wow, where did Fred Weasley learn to dance?"

"What impressed?" He says with a smirk.

"Just a bit." I say with a wink, making him laugh.

"Mum taught us when we were little. She always said, 'the easiest way to impress a girl is to dance away with her heart'."

He says with a smile and I giggle, picturing Mrs. Weasley telling this to a young Fred, and I blush knowing that's exactly what he's doing right now.

"So what do you think? Not bad for a goofball right?" He says with a laugh, making me reach up and kiss him quickly since we're in "class".

"Not bad at all Fred Weasley. My heart is definitely dancing." I say with a smile and his grin widens at my words.

The rest of that day was a lazy day, they cancelled classes for everyone–which we were all happy about.

A couple days later while reading my magik book in my bed, an incessant tapping noise can be heard from the window. Looking over I see an owl holding a letter in its beak making the noise.

I open the window to let it in. The owl gives me the letter, nudges my hand affectionately, then flys away leaving me a bit confused. I slice open the envelope and pull out the neatly folded letter.

Good morning Love,

Hope you slept well, and hopefully the owl was nice—seemed to be the only one of the lot.

Anyways. Do me a favor Paws, and meet me at the Astronomy tower in about half hour. Think you can do that for me?

I love you,
Fred

The Astronomy tower? Why there? It's not like we have that class this year..? Oh well, seeing as I have limited time I get up, taking a quick shower, and dress before throwing my hair in a braid and leaving my dorm.

Making my way across the corridor to the stairs that lead up to the tower, I wonder why Fred has asked me up here in the first place. Of course your brain thinks of the bad, like he could be dumping me, but that's not Fred. I don't think he'd do that..

Reaching the base of the staircase, I take a deep breath before I start my climb to the top. Once I get up there I see Fred standing by the railing looking out onto the grounds, I forgot how beautiful the view is from up here.

"Hi Love." I say as I come up behind him and place my arms around his waist in a hug.

"Evey." He says with a smile as he turns around. "You made it."

"Of course I did. I've forgotten how beautiful it is up here." I say taking his old spot and look out.

"Yeah it really is." He mumbles a bit.

"Evey, I–I have a..question to ask you." He says spinning me around to face him, and I can practically feel the nervousness roll off of him.

"You can ask me anything Freddie." I gently squeeze his hands in reassurance, and he's finally able to meet my eyes.

"Evelyn, would you do the honor of accompanying me to the Yule Ball?" He rushes out in just one breath, but I can still understand him.

A big smile crosses my face, I didn't think he'd want to go to a girly dance thing. His lips start to tilt up when he sees the grin spreading on mine.

"I wouldn't wanna go with anyone else."
