Falling Into Place

Coming back to Hogwarts after the holiday, proved to be the worst idea yet... the first week we were slammed with homework from classes, with hardly anytime to get away. And to top it all off, Umbridge believes she's got some sort of control over this place and tried to fire Trelawney.

That was an ugly showdown. McGonagall shows up to comfort the strange Divination professor, while questioning Umbridge's authority. Finally Dumbledore ends it, and the poor lady gets to stay in the castle.

Since then, Harry has been bitter. Convinced that Dumbledore is ignoring him, he believes no one is here to help him, he won't even talk to me about it.

"Evelyn." I hear from behind me, and I turn to see Harry at the bottom of the boys staircase.

"Hi Harry." I say softly, as he comes around the couch and sits next to me.

"I–I'm sorry I've been a right prat lately. I don't mean to push you away, but after everything that happened over holiday—"

"I understand Harry. That's why I'm here, so you don't have to do all this alone. You can trust me." I say placing my hand over his, and he seems to breathe a sigh of relief.

"I know, and I do trust you! You're busy with Fred and the shop–"

"I'm never too busy for you Harry." I say with a smile which he returns. We chat for a while longer before he bids me goodnight and heads upstairs.

Practicing more of this new magik, I don't hear the portrait door open and I jump out of my skin when there's a sudden presence behind me.

"Hello Love." Fred whispers lightly, but in my fright I slam the book shut making both of us jump.

"You scared the crap out of me!" I say turning towards him as he moves around the couch.

"I'm sorry Love." He says as he sits and pulls me into his side.

"It's alright. How was Filtch?" At this he groans loudly, making me giggle.

"You know how he is. Hell-bent on making our lives hell. Thankfully George and I brought along a few dung bombs to leave in his office." He smiles at this and I laugh.

"And you wonder why you two are always in detention." He begins to play with the ring on my hand, and it makes me grin to think of our future together.

"I love you Evelyn." He says quietly, and I look up to see he's already looking at me.

"I love you Fred."

He then leans down to kiss me, slowly yet full of passion, and when he finally breaks the kiss we don't move from each other's side.

"Valentine's Day is coming up. Did you want to go into Hogsmead?" He says quietly and I raise an eyebrow at him.

"In the last three years, have we ever gone to Hogsmead for Valentine's Day?" Why would he want to go now? We always found it a bit overdone.

"Well no, but I want to know what you'd like to do this year?" Was there anything I really wanted to do? Not really.

"As long as I'm with you Fred, I don't care what we do." I say with a smile as he looks at me with a grin, his eyes becoming mischievous. Now I know why he wanted to ask.

"You want to spend the day in the Room of Requirement don't you?" I say with a chuckle.

"Well if that's what you want to do, I won't fight you on it." I shake my head slightly, laughing aloud.

"I guess you'll have to see, won't you?" I say into his ear as his twin steps into the room.

"Do I want to know what I just walked in on?" He says cautiously, narrowing his eyes and raising his hands in surrender.

"Well we were–" Fred starts, only for George to wave his hands around his head frantically.

"I didn't say you could tell me! And anyways, I have business to discuss." He sits in front of the two of us, unnerving seriousness on his face.

"As you both know, I've been in contact with someone in Diagon Alley to look for a place for the shop. As it turns out, something has opened up." At these words Fred sits forward hanging on every word his brother has to say.

"And what did he say?"

"It's a three story building on the corner with a flat on the third floor, the first two floors seem to be big enough for our gear."

"A flat upstairs? Well that's convenient." I add in, trying to picture the place.

"That's what I was thinking. It's a two room flat, but unfortunately we'd have to share a bathroom.." He says this and both of them turn to look at me.

"Clean your messes and we won't have problems." I say sweetly and they nod their heads quickly.

"Okay well, this place sounds perfect. Can we afford it is the question." Fred asks, running his hand through his hair.

"This guy is willing to make us a deal. If we work with him, he'd like for his grandson to get discounts on our products. Apparently, he's an aspiring prankster, and enjoys our work." George says with a small grin, waiting for Fred to think it over.

"I think that's a fair deal. I mean, a place to live and the shop all in one place, we couldn't have gotten any luckier. And it's discounts to one kid, I think we can swing that. What do you think?" I ask turning to Fred, placing my hand on his leg.

"I think that could work." He says with a giant grin, making us all smile.

"I think, things are finally looking up for us! Now we just have to get through the rest of the school year." Fred says, but with the last statement we all smirk.

"What better way to try out new products than in Umbridge's class." We all agree, excited for what's to come.

*What?! Two updates in a day! I mean, it's the least I can do for you all for being patient with me! Hope you enjoy!
