Dad and I lead the group through the tunnel, while Remus was at the back watching over Pettigrew and toting Snape with a spell.

"You know what this means don't you? Turning Pettigrew in?" Dad says looking my way as we stand outside, in front of the castle.

"It..it means you're a free man." I say with a grin forming on my face, his mirroring mine as he pulls me into a hug that could rival Molly Weasley's.

"Yeah." He says, a small laugh forming as the thought is soon to become a reality. "We can finally be a proper family. With Harry too. If he wants." Dad whispers still locked in our embrace.

"And Moony too, I wouldn't want him to feel alone." I say and Dad agrees as we hear Harry come up behind us, standing on Dad's other side.

"Beautiful, isn't it? I'll never forget the first time I walked through those doors. It'll be nice to do it again. Freely." I squeeze Dad's hand as he turns to look at Harry.

"That was a noble thing you did back there. He doesn't deserve it." Dad squeezes my hand back. Knowing all too well how I feel about the whole situation.

"I don't think my father would want his two best friends to become killers for someone worthless like Pettigrew. Besides: if he's dead, the truth dies with him. Bring him back alive...you're free. And I want to apologize Evelyn. For being such a nasty prat all this time." He says, Dad raises his eyebrow in my direction and I just shake my head. It's not a big deal.

"It's alright Harry. Your world was thrown upside down, I didn't expect you to be very accepting of me at first, I would've been the same way had I not known the truth."

"Still. I was absolute rubbish, to you. I hope you can forgive me."

"Of course Harry. After all, we are family." I say with a smile, causing a small smile to appear on his face.

"Well since Evelyn spoiled that bit for me," Dad nudges me lightly, causing me to laugh.  "I'll understand if you choose to stay with your aunt and uncle, but, so you know, you could—"

"Come live with you guys?! When?" He seems to almost jump out of his shoes causing me to giggle.

"As soon as my name's cleared. We can finally be a family."

Dad says, the three of us lapsing into silence enjoying the calm night when the clouds overhead slowly split. I observe the beautiful full moon when suddenly my blood runs cold and I grab onto Dad's arm. Jerking him from whatever thoughts he might've had.

"Remus." I simply whisper and we whip around to see him frozen in his spot, blankly staring into the sky. "Dad. He didn't have his potion tonight.."

"Go. Run! Get them out of here!"

Dad says shuffling Harry and I to the side as he creeps closer to Moony. We get to Ron and Hermione and I keep them protectively behind me until I can find a safe enough time to move to the castle.

"You know the man you truly are Remus. This flesh is just flesh!"

"Expelliarmus!" I hear behind me as Harry has disarmed Pettigrew, only for us to watch as he transforms. The rat getting away again.

"You three get back to the castle! This is about to get nasty!" They all just stare at me, but before I can yell at them again, it seems Snape has awoken from his slumber and jumps up at us.

"Out of the way!" He growls jumping in front of us "protectively", while he's distracted with the trio I quietly shift into my dog form prepared for when Moony fully transforms, knowing Dad isn't strong enough to hold him for long.

Suddenly Remus throws his shoulders back to full werewolf height and Dad is thrown to the ground, and a terrifying howl breaks through the silence. Dad has yet to get up which has me worried, but right now Moony has turned his attention towards us and growls as he stalks closer. At this point a jump out in front of the group, successfully scaring Snivellous ha! But earning gasps and Hermione worriedly calling my name.

Remus seems to stop in his tracks, no doubt the werewolf would recognize me, but recognize me as a friend? I doubt it. I growl in warning, letting him know he isn't allowed to hurt these people, but it seems to have the opposite affect.

He howls again and charges for me, before he can get to close a mass of black suddenly jumps out and tackles him to the side. At this point I turn around quickly trying to signal to the group to get back, but once again they only stare in what seems to be awe.

Back and forth Dad and Remus seem to go, I quickly jump in to take some hits off Dad, seeing his strength drain already. Suddenly Moony is able to over power Dad tossing him into the grass with a yelp of pain, and before he can do anymore damage I jump in front pushing the werewolf back with all my might. This goes on for a while, and before I know it, I've let my guard down.

Moony knocks into me hard with his giant paws, sending me into a nearby tree, snapping the tree and some ribs just by the sheer force of the hit. I struggle to stand back up only to fall again, a small whimper escaping my lips. My vision slowly becoming black as I see Moony standing above me raising his paw, claws gleaming in the moonlight. I await the hit only to distantly hear another howl, causing Moony to pause.

I wouldn't know if he would try and hit me again as the pain becomes too much and my vision finally fades and all I see is black.
