Landing in the field outside of the Burrow's protective boundaries we begin the walk up, hand in hand, wondering what we're going to find when we go inside the house. For the first time in all the times I've been to the Burrow, there isn't any bustling sound of life or any happy sounds emitting from the windows, and it terrifies me. As Fred opens the door, we're met by the hard face of my father as he hurries us inside.

"Did you see anyone else out there?" He asks lowly and Fred and I shake our heads before my dad pulls me into a tight embrace.

"I'm glad you two made it here in one piece, we aren't exactly sure who else is being targeted after the attack on Hogwarts." He mumbles as we trail further inside and see George and Alicia sitting on the sofa together, who jump up at our arrival.

"Evey." George greets in relief, pulling me to him after releasing his twin.

"Hi Georgie, Alicia." I greet them both, glad to see they're okay, even if slightly shaken. "We came as soon as we got your message. What happened?" I ask looking between the three of them, wanting to know how exactly this all could've happened.

"All we know, as of right now, is that the Death Eaters somehow managed to get through the protective wards on Hogwarts, and were able to get to Dumbledore." Fred and I sit next to the others as my father paces the small living room, explaining what he knows.

"The Order was called after the breach and some of us went to fight them off, but there were more of them than expected. Remus sent the patronus about Dumbledore, I don't know what or who else has been injured in the fight." We all go silent, not really knowing what else to say as we await any news on what could've happened, hoping we haven't lost anyone else.

At least an hour has passed before we begin to hear the cracks of apparation in the field outside, and the tension returns to the room as my dad watches by the door to make sure it's Order members by our door and not those looking to harm us. Remus is the first to come through the door, looking worn and upset, and no one utters a word in anticipation of what he might say.

"Dumbledore was the only casualty." He says solemnly to the room, before bringing his sad eyes to the twins. "But Bill was attacked by Greyback. Madam Pomfrey says he'll be alright, but we won't know the full severity until later." I run a comforting hand along Fred's arm as I feel him tense at the news, but I feel bad for Remus as well, he's taking it like it's his fault Bill was attacked.

"Where is everyone else?" Dad questions to Remus, as I comfort the twins.

"Molly, Arthur, and Fleur have stayed back at the school with Bill. The others will return shortly after speaking with McGonagall about what happens now at Hogwarts." The house lapses into silence and I decide to put a kettle on, hopefully some tea will calm our nerves.

Making my way into the familiar kitchen, I sigh not liking what has been going on and unsure what this will mean for all of us. Pulling the mugs from Molly's cabinet, I wait for the kettle to be ready and smile slightly as Remus makes his way into the kitchen. He looks at me, and I see the sadness in his eyes before he draws me into a tight embrace, bringing my head to rest on his chest.

"I'm glad your home Evey, but not under these circumstances." He mutters into my hair, and I just tighten my arms around my godfather, worried the most for his wellbeing.

"No, I'd much rather be here, than alone wondering what's happening with everyone here." He pulls back to look at me, worry flooding his eyes, before he places a kiss on my forehead.

"Sometimes I wonder if you can be too brave for your own good." He chuckles slightly, and I smile at him before realizing there's something else on his mind.
