As sunlight drenches the room, I roll over and come face to face with my sleeping husband, and I can't help but smile at the thought of last night.
Looking at his peaceful face, a small smile gracing his features, and I wish we could stay in this moment forever.
Not being able to go back to sleep, I grab one of his shirts putting it on before heading downstairs finding my way around the kitchen. Setting the kettle on for some tea, I start whipping together some eggs and toast for breakfast.
"Good morning Love." I hear Fred's rough morning voice behind me as he wraps his arms gently around me.
"Good morning." I turn to leave a kiss on his lips. "Sleep well?" He simply hums into my neck making me giggle.
The kettle then whistles making the both of us jump slightly, and Fred breaks away to pour us each a glass of tea. Plating our breakfast I meet him at the table, both of us content in the early morning silence.
My mind starts to wonder though, and suddenly I'm deep in thought. We did just get married, and everyone knows after marriage comes children. I don't even know how Fred feels about the idea. Or even if it is a smart idea right now to worry about children.
"What are you thinking about my love?" He asks snapping me from my thoughts, and I chew on my bottom lip debating if I should tell him.
"I was just thinking." He simply looks at me to continue and I take a deep breath. "Do you want a family?"
I can tell I caught him off guard as he slightly chokes on his tea, his eyes widening. I smile sadly waving off the idea, moving my eggs around uninterestedly, knowing I shouldn't have brought it up.
"What brought this about Love?" I'm about to brush it off again, when I see the sincerity in his eyes and decided to just tell him.
"I just... With tensions in the wizarding world increasing daily, it's just something I don't see happening—" I shrug as he cuts me off, his warm hands grasping my face.
"Hey. This isn't going to last forever. Don't you worry Evelyn Rose, I want a family with you. Just when I can guarantee your safety, okay? I couldn't live with myself if something happened to you or our child." I simply nod, understanding completely where he's coming from, and feeling the weight lift from my shoulders.
"Now, I love you and hate seeing you so down." He says kissing my forehead, before pulling back with a smile. "What do you say to wandering around the island?"
We finish our breakfast and change into some comfortable clothes, surprised by the warm temperature and go about our exploring. Fred takes my hand as we walk along the shore enjoying the quiet company of this place.
We soon discover that the island itself isn't very big, so as we approach the cottage again we decide to simply sit in the sand and watch the waves roll towards us.
"I could stay here forever." I mumble quietly, imagining how life could be in this place.
"Me too. But that would mean leaving the shop with George and I dunno if that's a good idea." I snort back a laugh.
"George would have a right fit if we left him alone with the shop." Fred agrees as we start laughing again.
I don't remember the last time I've laughed like this, so carefree and just filled with pure joy. Things might be getting worse, but in a world that is just us, we'll be just fine.
*Oh my. I am so sorry guys, I didn't mean for it to take this long, I just had the hardest time trying to wrap up this chapter. I was going to add more things, but they just aren't working in my mind. So I'm sorry this chapter is short and crappy, hopefully the next one is better!
