The Beginning Of So Much

After dinner we all headed back to the common room. Joining in the chatter about the Tri-Wizard Tournament, the boys all very excited about it.

Leaning into Fred's side I'm mesmerized by the flames in the grate, eventually tuning out the conversation around me. Suddenly he shakes me from my stupor causing me to jump.

"Meet me back down here in ten minutes Love." He says with a smirk and a wink before shooting up the boys staircase.

I chuckle at him as I quickly head to my room to grab a coat and a blanket for us to sit on. Butterflies wage a war in my stomach, and I can't help but feel giddy.

Spending so much time together during the summer, there wasn't really a need to "go out on a date", or even just having time to ourselves since we were busy developing products. So I'm excited for this, yet nervous.

"Ready Love?" He says meeting me at the bottom of the stairs with a giant grin stretching his features.

"Shall we?"

"We shall. Milady." He offers me the crook of his elbow, making me giggle at the gentlemanly gesture. Threading my arm through his we head down towards the Black Lake.

Once we get to the lake, we sit close to the water, dipping our feet in. When we get settled, he wraps a strong arm around my waist and I lean my head on his shoulder, both of us looking up at the stars.

I sigh contently, wanting to stay in this moment forever. He laces his fingers through mine and gives my hand a squeeze. 

"What are you thinking about?" I randomly ask, still watching the stars.

"The future...Kinda." He says barely louder than a whisper, with a shrug of his shoulders.

"What do you mean? That was a very vague answer Fred." I say with a small smile as he pulls me closer to him.

"I dunno...I was just thinking how nice this was, that I could do this forever. You know?" I raise my head with a smile in his direction, as he shyly looks back at me.

"Yeah. I do. Don't worry about the future Freddie. We'll figure it out when we get there. Together."

"Have I told you lately how much I love you?" He says with a smile, and thankfully it's dark out because I feel a blush cover my face.

"I might need a little reminder." I say slyly with a smile causing him to smirk in my direction.

He then leans in placing both of his hands on either side of my face, and I close my eyes prepared. This causes him to chuckle.

"I. Love. You. Evelyn Black." He says with a kiss enunciating each word, and ending with a much deeper kiss.

One hand makes it back toward my waist while the other knots itself in my hair, and I slip my hands into his long hair, pulling each other impossibly closer.

Suddenly rustling in the nearby grass cause us to break apart, looking around quickly. When we can't see anything, I look back at him and we start laughing.

"I guess we should head in." I say reluctantly intertwining our fingers.

"Aww, where's the fun in that?"

"Uh..Flitch not skinning us maybe? Living until tomorrow?" I say with a laugh, and he ruffles my hair in retaliation.
