Flying over the country side of Scotland was a beautiful sight. We were wanting to get to Diagon Alley before it gets dark and finalize everything with the shop.
Flying in close ranks so we don't risk exposure, I enjoy the feeling of freedom. No more worries about classes and teachers, we can finally start our future and bring our baby to life!
Starting this shop will give us the opportunity to not only put our products out there, but we also get to create a bit of joy in these trying times.
Landing right outside The Leaky Cauldron, we dismount our brooms and I shiver slightly, still unable to shake the feeling I had at school. We head inside to where George has discussed a meeting place with this realtor.
"Mr. Povell, and you must be the other Weasley's." He says, shaking mine and Fred's hands as George grabs his attention, I raise a brow slightly at his assumption.
"That's us. Sorry about such short notice tonight." Fred apologizes since we weren't really planning on leaving today.
"That's alright my dear boy. Everything seems to be in order for you folks, we just need to sign some things and she's yours!" He says looking to the three of us, and we join him at his previous table.
Reading through the papers, we make sure everything is correct–especially the deal for this mans grandson, and once we sign, the wide grins won't leave our faces.
"Alright. Here's the keys to the building and to the flat, she's right on the corner, next to the old owl emporium. Good luck, I look forward to your opening!" He says happily, and we thank him as we use the back entrance into Diagon Alley.
Once the last brick moves, we are shocked at what we see. The once bustling Diagon Alley, is filled with only a couple stragglers, hurrying between whatever stores are left. Looking between ourselves, Fred pulls me closer as we walk carefully through the thick fog.
We cross the street, coming upon a massive building, with big windows facing the alley, seeing the dusty old emporium next door indicates that this is our shop. Even though the atmosphere is dreary, we all smile brightly as George turns the key in the lock and pushes open the door.
Looking inside, I become excited at the massive space we have to work with, the windows reach from floor to ceiling, illuminating the second floor balcony that will give us more room to place things. Walking through the open first floor, I can just imagine all the shelves filled with pranking gear, boxes and boxes of our Skiving treats.
"Avada Kedavra!" A shrill voice yells from across the room.
Turning quickly, Bellatrix Lestrange is seen on a platform as the caster of the killing curse, aiming for the person in front of her. Following the green beam of light, it turns out to be her cousin, Sirius, who is caught off guard as the curse hits his chest.
Looking to his left, a tear falls from his eye as his last thought goes to the person he loves most, and a silent apology for letting her down.
"NO!" I scream my voice cracking with tears bubbling to the surface.
"Evelyn! What's wrong?" Fred says frantically as he grips my face, only now do I notice that I'm on the floor.
