Previously:
"Vamp's here!" he shouted, there was no point in being quiet. My heart raced, my eyes widened, and my breathing accelerated in anticipation. This was it. Jacob sprinted past me, out the front door and didn't miss a beat to howl, capturing the pack's attention. I just stood there, fighting a smile. Nonetheless, there was a part of me that was terrified as I knew this wasn't going to be pretty, I knew the minimal damage a vampire could do, but what was their maximum?
I guessed I would just have to find out.

I darted upstairs and looked out of my bedroom window, desiring to just catch one glimpse- at least! Sadly, I couldn't see them as the trees were blocking my vision's path of them, but they could see me. I felt their eyes on me, focused on their prize. I strained my ears to hear, trying to uncover their growls underneath the harsh wind but to no avail.
Giving up, I paced my bedroom floor, contemplating going downstairs near the front door for them to have easier access. My mind was creating these wild stories of what was happening outside and what could happen that I didn't see a figure behind me. I stopped in my tracks and looked at her, her wild red hair first to register. She was standing at the top of the stairs, glaring at me with immense hatred.
Victoria.
Her snarl ripped through the silence while I realized this was her plan, as I stood there frozen, she had Laurent with her so he could distract Jacob and the pack.
How clever.
In a blink of an eye, she had me flung over her rock solid shoulder and was tumbling down the stairs, her growls never quieting. My mind had slowed, as even though Victoria was here to seek revenge, she was proof that the Cullens were real. I hoped she finished me quickly like James tried to do. He tormented me but still was quick- I had a large dread that Victoria wouldn't be the same. Revenge always made people drag it out, I would know.
We were speeding through the trees, as I felt the disbelieving freedom. It was a reminder to me that the world didn't just stop outside the walls of my cottage.
Little did Victoria know, she was helping me escape. I hadn't felt the wind in my hair like this for so long, I ignored the feeling of my bruises being bumped or my wounds stretching, just the bliss feeling of running at a high speed.
I missed it.
I missed Edward.
Victoria stopped running suddenly, causing me to feel instantly nauseous like when a car abruptly and the human mind would instantly worry about what had happened. This certainly wasn't the time for my human disadvantage traits to settle in. My quickly pumping heart gave away my fear as she flung me on the ground, just as Jacob would do.
"Well, well, well," Victoria spoke, her voice was surprisingly soft, high and what you would find on a little stereotypical blond teen in the movies. "Isabella Swan. Long-time no see," she said. I was still on the ground where I had landed while she stalked her prey, circling.
We were in the middle of the deep forest, trees beyond trees. It was secure and isolated, where no one could save me. Thankfully.
"So, where's lover boy?" she asked me, looking into the trees as if she was expecting a savior. Pfft, please, that would never happen!
"I could ask you the same question." The unexpected confidence must have come from the experience with Jacob. All this interrogation wasn't new to me, nor was the mention of Edward. I was used to it, immune probably.
