"I'll be back for when you wake tomorrow," Edward said, obsidian eyes deeply looking into mine as if he was trying to savor the moment before he went hunting.
"Okay," I said, foreheads were touching and bodies clamped together.
"I love you," he said, those words always set the butterflies free in my stomach, only he could make me feel that way.
"And I love you," I said back, thinking there should be a stronger word for 'love' as it didn't quite do the emotion I felt for him justice. 'Love' was said so freely sometimes and was often confused with lust.
With a kiss on my forehead and another look into my eyes, seemingly searching for something, he walked out of the door and to the rest of the Cullen men.
Thinking back to the past three days, where I had been hanging out in the lounge, I made my way downstairs and into the spacious room. Rosalie and Esme were already in the lounge with Rosalie on a laptop and Esme reading.
"Hiya," I said to both of them.
"Hello, sweetheart," Esme, who had already looked up from her book, answered. Rosalie just spared me a glance. Better than nothing.
"Now, how about I give you a haircut?" Alice skipped into the room looking at my hair- which was in dire need of a snip.
"Um...okay," I managed to say, weirdly surprised at how brusque she was. It was Alice, though, it shouldn't surprise me anymore.
"We'll do it down here, then." Alice glanced at the window seat that viewed the lake.
I followed Alice to the bare area while she placed a dining chair down, looking out into the view. It was, even after seeing it a number of times, still breath-taking.
"Sit," Alice instructed, I smirked at her, thinking of how she was treating me like a dog. I did as she said and faced the window. "Personally, I love your hair long, and I know Edward does too."
"Edward would love her whatever her hair was like, Alice," Esme chirped.
"Of course, he would, but he favorites her hair longer." Alice sounded as if she was close to saying 'duh'. "So how about I just take off the split ends?"
Happy with the minimum, I answered with a quick "yeah, sounds good." Humming, Alice went straight to work.
"Bella..." I heard behind me. It surprised me instantly who it was, though. Rosalie. I turned my head to see her already near me.
"Yeah?" I hesitantly answered. I needed to still thank her for saving my life, but it had slipped my mind. The sound of snipping stopped, leaving the room silent.
"I just thought...that I could come and talk to you about...well, I wanted to say that I am always here if you need someone to talk to." I kept my facial features the same even though I felt a huge surprise.
"You're probably shocked that I am even talking to you, but I don't think you know my story. Do you?" Rosalie continued. She looked slightly nervous as her feet were crossed in, but I didn't understand why.
"No," I answered.
"Would you like to hear it? I think at some parts you will be able to relate," Rosalie questioned, pacing over to sit on the cushioned window seat in front of me. I just nodded slowly, still trying to figure out what was going on.
Maybe she was just trying to be nice.
"Back when I was human, I lived with a family of five, my parents treasured me as I was the only daughter. My beauty had brought attention to our family from all over the town. I never became jealous because there was nothing that I didn't have. I had everything. All the females looked at me with envy and the males with lust. I loved the attention. In Rochester, the one family that were practically royal were the Kings. The father, Royce King, owned nearly all the profitable businesses in town, including the bank my father worked at." Rosalie paused, her eyes were still out of focus, but her face turned into a rage made scowl.
