The Brown boys were very excited when Kenny and Kay had informed them of the upcoming dance in Hoonah. All five of the brothers had one thing on their minds and that was meeting girls. The brothers ranged in age from 33 to 23, each unique in physical stature and talents.
Eldest brother Matt was a curly mop headed enthusiast for life. He was a lady killer for sure and had a talent for turning discarded items into objects of art. His best trait was his sparkling eyes and his killer good looks. He was by far a free spirit.
Noah was the youngest of the brothers. His appearance was strikingly Gothic and he wore his blonde locks pulled back neatly in a ponytail. Dressed always in black, he cut quite the dapper figure around town and charmed the fairer sex with his magic tricks. He was somewhat of a Renaissance man meets Wild Wild West. His rules for dating were very formal and any mother would have called Noah a true gentleman.
Middle brothers Bear and Gabe were opposites. Where Gabe was strong; Bear was small and agile. Bear had the outgoing personality and goofiness that charmed the ladies while Gabe was usually the shy one although he had a keen sense of comedy and wit. Bear had an almost uncontrollable energy thus his need to climb trees and run quickly every where he went. Gabe was most definitely the muscle of the brothers. He was the strong silent type; a throw back to James Dean in his leather jacket and white tshirts.
Last of all, there was Joshua. He was the second eldest of the brothers but the most responsible, at least in his mind. He was serious and introspective and demanded perfection from his siblings. He also played violin and could quote poetry as easy as he could speak his name. Although he never felt quite a girl's first pick, the brothers knew that he was the one that could make girls swoon when their backs were turned. There was something about his dark brooding frown that seemed to hook the ladies.
The Brown brothers were definitely going to town on Saturday night.
Lila heard a knock at her hotel room door and Kenny and Kay were smiling when she opened the door. "Wow, you look gorgeous." Kay exclaimed. "Can you do my makeup?"
Lila laughed and pulled Kay into the room. She pushed Kenny backout the door and told him to chill in the lodge lounge. Before Kenny could protest, the door slammed. He accommodated the request.
Lila made Kay sit on the edge of the bed and grabbed her makeup bag. "We're going to enhance what you have, not cover it up."
Kay laughed. "Enhance, enhance. I want some romance tonight."
Lila bellowed and began her transformation. She gave Kay a smoky eye and pretty pink lips. She pulled her braid out of her hair and blew her locks into big waves. She grabbed a pair of chandelier earrings from her jewelry and spritzed her with some perfume that smelled of lavender.
"Viole, what do you think?"
Kay giggled with enthusiam. "Girl, you do wonders with that bag of tricks."
Had it not been for Lila standing next to Kay, Lila wondered if Kenny would have recognized her. His reaction was priceless. Yes, there would be sparks between Kay and Kenny tonight.
"I have the honor of escorting the two most beautiful ladies in Hoonah tonight." Kenny extended his arms to both the girls and waltzed out the lodge door with a smile on his face.
The Brown brothers had made their way to the dance and had staked out a table nearest the dance floor. All the locals were there. The brothers scanned the room trying to decide which lucky ladies would get a taste of the Brown charm when their attention was drawn to the entrance of the community center. Kenny had just entered the room with two bombshells on his arms.
