Breakfast had been a lively exchange of sibling rivalry, crying babies and parental advice and Jill enjoyed every minute of it. She had, for the most part, been on her own for the past few years so to be surrounded by so much genuine love was of great comfort to her soul. Lila and Jill cleared the table giving Ami more time to play with the Brownies. It also gave Lila and Jill some much needed girl time.
"I hope you not upset about us interfering in your life." Lila rinsed the dishes as Jill dried them. "Mattie was pretty miserable without you. The boys dubbed him Misery as he was the living embodiment of that during the last eight weeks."
Jill had missed him terribly as well but pride and stubbornness had gotten in her way and the longer they were separated, the more she felt he didn't care. Had Bam not come to the shop that day, she may have let him walk right out of her life forever never realizing what fate had in store for her.
Jill looked at Matt as he and his family laughed and shared stories. She thought him to be a very handsome man and ruggedly so. Although he wasn't tall by traditional male standards, he was perfectly tall for her. His silver gray curls framed his bearded face which made his blue eyes stand out even more so than his brothers. She had a weakness for blue eyed boys. His laughter seemed to rise up from deep inside him as it rolled through the cabin that morning and it reminded her of how empty her years had been before settling in Hoonah.
Lila watched Jill as she watched Matt and leaned closer to her. "Those Brown boys just have that effect on a girl." Lila flashed Joshua a look that could only be exchanged with a man that she truly loved.
Jill smiled and tried to busy herself with drying the same plate for the umpteenth time. "Is that what it is? I thought it was sunshine in a bottle?"
Both women giggled drawing the attention of Bam and Matt. "I see the wheels turning in Lila's head, bro." Bam smiled at Jill and Lila. "That can only mean one thing...she's plotting something for you."
Matt winked at the women thinking silently to himself that wouldn't be a bad thing. If it hadn't been for Lila in the first place, he probably wouldn't have taken such a liking to Jill. She was the extreme of what he usually fancied but his standards, well, they weren't really standards before her but more like willing participants, had changed. She was like a dainty little fairy, full of magic and moonlight, in an impish sexy way. Petite, passionate perfection all in one perfect little package. It didn't hurt that she was also beautiful with dark brown hair and green cat eyes that could peer into his bare soul and reveal all his secrets with the bat of her lashes. Yes, he was hooked on her in a very bad way. She was his new addiction, his drug of choice, and he was her junkie now. He wanted her like he wanted a drink prior to his rehabilitation. The more he watched her interact with his family, he knew she was the one. He wanted all of her days and all of her nights. He wanted to create a mural of their future life together and let it be one long, never ending painting. He wanted to make love to her, and only her and he wanted the assurance back from her that she was his, and only his. He never wanted anything so much in his life as he wanted her at that very minute. He was a man who thirsted for her time, her attention and her soul.
Jill locked eyes with Matt at the very second that thought ran through his mind. She could feel the temperature rise in her body as he stared at her and dreamed of his touch from their reunion on the Integrity. She knew exactly what he wanted and what he was thinking as she wanted nothing more than to spend the day showing him how he sent her over the edge each time he made love to her. She thought him to be quite a skilled lover having herself had more than her fair share of sexual partners. Not since Jake had she ever experienced orgasms as deep as intense as she had with Matt.
Privacy came at a premium in Browntown and he knew they would get no peace within the encampment but he had a place for them and the past wouldn't haunt them there anymore.
"What are you two going to do today?" Ami asked as she bounced Lily Rose on her knee and looked at Jill. If Ami could have read her mind, she would have blushed crimson red because inside her she wanted to shout "Hopefully, your son!"
"I thought I would take Jill out on tbe skiff and show her some of Alaska's best kept secrets, maybe teach her how to catch crab." Jill flashed her eyes at Matt knowing exactly where he was going to take her and exactly what he wanted to do to her and she savoured every excruciating moment of it until they reached his cove.
