One of two things were certain to Bam Brown. He needed Lila to fall in love with him again or she would have to remember she was in love with him prior to her fall. She had refused his impromptu marriage proposal much to his disappointment but he was thrilled his status had changed from Matt's creepy brother to her lover overnight. As he watched Lila dress, his mind ran methodically through their relationship trying to decide what his next move would be.

Lila could feel herself breathing deeply as she watched Bam button his shirt. She had decided last night that she liked him a lot. It did frustrate her that she still could not remember their time together prior to the accident especially after what had transpired in the last 24 hours. She thought that the process of falling in love with the same person for the second time was an intriguing idea.

As Lila and Bam checked out of the lodge and walked to Kay and Kenny's house, Bam felt Lila slip her hand into his in that quiet manner that she had done so many times before. To Bam, it was a reminder of the very first time she had reached for his hand and it felt like home.

Lila and Bam arrived back at the house to find Kay preparing lunch. Her face beamed when she saw them walk through the door holding hands. "Looks like you two have kissed and made up." Lila's cheeks flushed with color as Bam left the two women alone in tbe kitchen to see what Kenny was working on in the back yard.

"Spill girl! You have that glow." Kay pulled her to the couch. "Details, details."

Lila proceeded to tell Kay how the date went and about Bam's gift. Kay hung on every word. "And? Girl, you didn't come home so where we're you all night?"

Lila fidgeted and told her they had taken a room at the lodge. "Well that explains the smile on Bam's face."

Lila reached for Kay's hand playing with her wedding band. "He asked me to marry him."

Kay practically jumped off the couch. "Holy crap." She grabbed Lila by the shoulders and shook her. "And you said yes!"

Lila dropped her eyes and quietly told Kay she said no. "You turned him down? And he's still smiling? Girl, he must have it bad for you."

Lila walked to the window and watched Bam and Kenny talking. She sighed heavily and closed her eyes. She could visualize the possibilities of her life. She could see herself standing next to him with slightly more wisdom highlights in his hair and holding the hands of a little brown haired boy and girl. "I like him.... but I want to love him before I yes."
