"Mrs. Brown...I like the sound of that." Jill whispered exchanging kisses with Matt just outside the building.
"My wife...my beautiful, gorgeous, sexy wife." Jill swallowed his words eagerly kissing him back.
Their few minutes of alone time were interrupted as they heard their names being called back inside the building. Lila and Kay were rolling out the buffet as Red was giving instructions to Bear as to how to position the wedding cake on the wood disk that she had used as a cake stand. Bear liked to help her carry things since she had always rebuffed his advances, this was his way of letting her know he was still interested in her. He was charmed from the first time he saw her at the bakery smelling like fresh baked bread. As soon as she told him her name was Red, he fell hard for her as everyone knew his favorite color was red.
The couple re-entered the building to cheers and applause and Matt wasted no time pulling Jill to their makeshift dance floor he had planed for their first dance as husband and wife. They had selected John Legend's "All of Me" for their first dance officially as husband and wife.
(Love this song!)
Jill's favorite part of the song was when Matt sang along to the lyrics only audible to her. "...Cause all of me loves all of you..." She felt herself go weak in the knees when he sang those words to her.
"Matthew Brown, do you know how much I want you at this very moment? I'm going to love you to death." Jill laid her head on his chest as they remained on the dance floor oblivious to everyone watching.
"I'm counting on that when we get to Anchorage." He pulled her just a little tighter against him and she felt exactly what he meant.
Kenny and Gabe had pulled the hog off the firepit. It had been cooking all day and was just about ready to be served. As friends and family gathered around the dance floor, Bam called for everyone's attention to offer a toast to Jill and Matt. He lifted his glass of lemonade and spoke these words:
To my big brother and his beautiful wife,
We wish you a lifetime of love and a home full of children. Never go to bed angry and always remember how happy you were on your best day. Last of all, we, all of us gathered here, offer you this traditional Irish blessing....
The love of family and friends overflowed the room and Matt and Jill certainly felt it.
Billy led the charge to the buffet line as he hadn't been to a pig picking since his time in Texas. Kenny was an expert grillmaster having quite the experience of grilling wild game.
Jill and Matt were too in love to eat instead spending their time canoodling on the dance floor. They had purposely picked a lot of slow dances for themselves and next up on their play list was a favorite of Jill's.
Lila and Bam took to the dance floor along side Matt and Jill. Bam was up for any excuse to get his wife in his arms and relished the chance to take her for a slow dance without babies on her hips. They thoroughly enjoyed being parents but they also missed the solitude of just being a couple."Jill looks like a cloud of pink cotton candy." Lila sighed at what a perfect vision in pink she was. Bam acknowledged how lovely his wife looked and reminded her how sexy she was as well. "I think you're a little biased."
The mood on the dance floor lightened up when Bear had finally coaxed Red to dance with him.
The music was perfect for Bear's pent up energy and Red's rocker girl style. Gabe and Bird followed suit, and Rain and the usually reserved Noah joined in the festivities.
Matt and Jill watched as the younger siblings rocked out to the Black Eyed Peas. Seeing everyone together, finally happy and prosperous, was a welcome change for Matt. He thought everyone was complete when he watched Lila and Bam get married but now he knew there would be many more years of happiness for all of them once Bear, Gabe and Noah found wives and everyone began having kids. He even could fathom the idea of Bird and Rain finding men to love, although only slightly and not fie a very long time.
Red signaled Jill and Matt it was time to cut the cake. She handed them a knife and instructed them to start from the top down which revealed the raspberry layer followed by the key lime and then the chocolate. Jill playfully teased Matt with a bite of cake promising not to smash it in his face and beard. Matt returned the favor putting a small dot of icing on the tip of her nose which he licked off with his tongue.
"A sign of things to come?" She said under her breath.
"Why Mrs. Brown, are we anxious to start the honeymoon?"
Her smile spoke volumes.
