Dear Readers,

This chapter published inadvertently last night and was immediately recalled. It was also renamed from You're Invited to Rustic Chic. I'm kind of a visual person so I hope you get a picture in your mind of what Jill and Matt are planning. ---polaris1401

In the early morning light, Matt and Jill walked the distance back to their apartment. They were greeted by their fellow foursome gathered around the breakfast table. "Our wayward children have returned." Bam chuckled as he served up a platter of eggs to the table.

"Morning everyone." Matt loaded up a plate of eggs and sausage. "I'm starving."

"I bet you are. Worked up an appetite last night, did you?" Lila playfully teased the couple knowing full well what they did after they reconciled their differences. They weren't that much different than she and Bam in the early days of their relationship.

"We have a change in plans." Jill announced. "Matt and I have decided to get married here at Browntown Lumber. We still want all of you to come but it will be easier for us to plan for a service here."

Two weeks remained until the wedding date and Jill and Matt had thrown themselves into their wedding planning with full force. After bidding goodbye to Matt's siblings until the big day, they spent their waking hours working their respective businesses and their nights pulling together the details of their wedding.

There was little time for intimate activities which was perfectly fine for Jill. She liked the idea of she and Matt putting some distance between themselves prior to their wedding. It would make their honeymoon all the more satisfying. Matt had to be convinced of that idea but he could be a patient man knowing what awaited him later that month.

Lining up a justice of the peace was an easy task. Jill had already made that connection through her shop. The JOP had frequented the Art Gypsy because of his passion for collecting Tlinglit art carvings. He agreed to perform the service and asked Jill to contact his assistant with the details.

Jill had contracted with the local bakery for a simple wedding cake combining her vision of rustic and shabby chic. Red, the local bakery girl, and the object of Bear's attention while in Hoonah, suggested a burlap and lace cake design. Jill's only request was that each of the layers of the cake be a different flavor...chocolate, raspberry, and key lime (a nod to her southern roots). They didn't necessarily blend well but it would be a treat for her new family.

Matt worked on the interior of his building creating wood benches from his stockpile of lumber while Jill created a makeshift wedding aisle from hay bales and mason jars that she had scavenged from the local thrift. Simple white sheer fabric would serve as a backdrop for their altar and twinkling white lights would give it a warm ambiance.
