"Hello, World," Riley gleefully says bursting through the front doors of the school, with Maya's arm linked in her own.
The brunette's comment puts a smile Maya's face, she shakes her head as her eyes roll, "never change, Riles."
"I don't plan on it," she says proudly.
Farkle, Lucas, Zay and Smackle follow the couple into the school.
"So everyone is theirselves again, right? Maya is Maya and Riley is Riley?" Lucas questions looking at both of the girls.
"Yep," Riley exclaims, unlocking her arm with Maya's and intertwining their fingers together.
Maya simply smiles to show her agreement.
"And nobody else lost themselves over the weekend I hope. Lucas? Farkle? Smackle?" Zay lists off.
"Nope, we're still us," Farkle responds.
"Good," Zay chuckles in relief.
The group walks upstairs towards their classrooms.
"Wait so if Riley and Maya are dating now, who does that leave you with, Lucas?" Zay asks.
"I don't think that matters right now," Lucas answers.
"We are all here for you, man," Zay says putting his hand on Lucas' shoulder. "I will be your wingman whenever you need me."
"Thanks. I'll remember that," Lucas responds with a laugh.
The bell rings and they all head of to class. Riley and Maya hug each other goodbye.
Lunch finally arrives and Riley and Maya are the first to get to the table.
"Well, well, well... What do we have here?" A familiar voice says.
The two look up, "Missy," Riley utters.
"Riley. Maya," the girl responds with a fake smile. "Unless my eyes deceive me, you two seem to be a lot closer than usual."
"So what? Why do you care?" Riley questions harshly.
"Really, I was right?" Missy laughs. "You two are actually dating?"
"Why are you here?" Riley asks, visibly starting to get very annoyed.
"I just wanted to make sure Lucas was actually available again. It's really a shame that he wasted two years on you two... Lesbians," Missy says in a disgusted tone.
"Actually-"
"Ladies!" Farkle interrupts sitting down at the table. He looks up at Missy, "you can leave now."
"Whatever," Missy walks away flipping her hair back with an evil smile.
"Thank you, Farkle," the brunette says.
"Anytime."
Maya, who had been silent for the entire confrontation only lets out a quiet, "thanks."
The boy smiles at the blonde. "Anyway..." Farkle begins in order to distract from what had just happened. The rest of the group soon join the three for the remainder of lunch.
The final bell rings for the day and Maya and Riley separate to put their things away in their lockers.
"Maya."
The blonde looks over her shoulder, "yes?"
"You're lying."
"What are you talking about, Farkle?" She asks pressing her eyebrows together.
"You aren't back to your normal self."
"Yes, I am," Maya defends.
"No, you aren't Maya. You know that and I know that. Just because you confessed your feelings towards Riley doesn't mean your back to being you."
"How am I not me? What is it that you want? 'Rebel Maya?' Is that what you want, Farkle? For me to go back to breaking rules and getting bad grades?"
"That's not what-"
"What if I've changed, Farkle? What if I'm no longer who I used to be?"
"You have changed, Maya," Farkle smiles.
"Then what are you talking about?" Before he could respond she blurts out, "do you know what, I have to go."
Maya slams her locker shut and goes off to find Riley.
Farkle watches the blonde storm off, "not exactly what I wanted, but better," he says to himself with a smile still on his face.
