It's the beginning of day and everyone is in their first hour class watching the announcements.
"The fall semi-formal is coming up in less than a month, so you better start asking that special someone to be your date."
"Morning, Riley. It's finally Friday!" Lucas says approaching the brunette.
Riley turns around.
"Woah... Are you okay?" Lucas asks.
"Never been better why?"
"It looks like you didn't get any sleep last night," Lucas says, referring to the bags and dark circles under her eyes.
"Actually, I got a full hour of sleep," Riley tells him.
"An hour?" Lucas exclaims. "What were you doing all night?"
"Come see."
The two walk into Matthews' classroom.
"I got to school at six o'clock this morning to finish it."
"Riley, what is it?"
"It's how I'm going to ask Maya to the semi-formal," Riley starts. "You see I'll be in the classroom and as soon as she comes in I'll pull this string. Then a sign that says, 'Maya, will you go to the semi-formal with me?' Will roll down. That will cause confetti and balloons to fall from the ceiling and then-"
"Riley?"
"Yeah?"
"Don't you think this is all a little much?" Lucas asks her.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't you think that Maya would like something a little more private?"
"More private?"
"Yeah."
Riley thinks for a moment, "you're probably right, but I spent so much time working on this..."
"I know, Riley. Maybe-"
"Tear it down, tear it all down! Lucas, go find the marching band and tell them I don't need their help anymore!"
"Riley, just wait-"
"Now, Lucas! We don't have anymore time to loose!"
Lucas leaves the class room to go find the band, while Riley takes down everything she spent all night working on.
"Hey, Maya."
"Farkle."
"I was wondering... Have you asked Riley to the semi-formal yet?"
"No, why?"
"Well aren't you going to soon?" The boy questions.
"Farkle, why do you care when I ask her?"
"What if someone else asks her?"
"We're dating, I don't think anyone else is going to ask her. I'm going to ask her after school anyway."
"Really? How are you going to ask her?"
"Well I was going to go up to her and say something along the lines of, 'Riley, do you want to go to the semi-formal with me?' And that would be that."
"That's it?"
Maya nods her head.
"You didn't buy her flowers or chocolate or anything?"
"No..."
"Maya this is high school. When you ask her it has to be big!" It has to say 'wow!'"
"Wow?"
"Wow!" Farkle yells, getting closer to the blonde's face.
Maya pushes him back. "Maybe you're right... Then what should I do, Farkle?"
"Hmm... You could have an airplane write out something in the sky."
"And how am I going to do that?"
"Good point. Plus, that's too cliché..."
They both start to think of other ideas.
"I've got it!" Farkle shouts. "What about a bunny?"
"A bunny?"
"Yeah, a bunny! It could be wearing a collar that says, 'Semi-Formal?' You could give it to her and that's how you could ask her. I know I guy who could get us the bunny too."
"You have a bunny guy?"
"Yeah, long story."
"Well, Riley does like bunnies and I've got nothing else... So a bunny it is!"
"Okay, meet me at Topanga's after school and I'll get everything else," Farkle says, before leaving for his class.
