30: She's Not Her

Riley answers Maya's call.

"Hey, Peaches!"

"Hey, Riles! How are you?"

"Better. I got quite a bit of sleep today."

"Yay, I'm glad. Didn't go to school today?" Maya asks.

"No, but I think I'm going to go tomorrow."

"Lucky. My new school is lame."

Riley laughs, "What so bad about it?"

"Well for one, you and my friends aren't there. Plus, the teachers there aren't as good..."

"As my dad?" Riley questions.

"Yeah... As your dad," Maya shyly says, embarrassed that she actually really likes Mr.Matthews' class.

The girls continue talking for the rest of the night, before deciding to go the sleep.

Riley has a hard time falling asleep, only because she wasn't very tired to begin with, but ends up taking an hour nap right before she had to wake up.

Riley gets ready for her day, as she usually would. Once 7:00 comes around she becomes sad, realizing Maya won't be there to pick her up.

Nevertheless, Riley makes it her mission to make it through the day.

At school, Riley isn't her talkative, bubbly self, but her friends brush it off with all that she has gone through lately.

Lucas, Farkle and even Zay take turns walking Riley to her classes.

Except for when she has a class by herself, one of her friends is always by her side.

Riley notices that they are acting more protective of her, but she chooses not to say anything.

At lunch, the friends all sit together. Riley is zoned out of their conversation, until she hears her name.

"Riley?"

"Huh?" She asks.

"We were wondering if you were going to come to Topanga's tonight." Lucas says.

"Uh, no. Maya and I talk after school," the brunette responds. That was the first full sentence Riley had said all day.

They all nod their heads to show that they understand.

Riley gets home and anxiously waits for Maya to call her.

While waiting, Riley brushes her hair and puts on some more make up.

Finally her laptop rings.

"Hey, Riles! Missed me? I know I missed you."

"Of course I missed you. When are you going to move back to the city?"

"Trust me, I look for apartments everyday, but it's only been three days, Riles."

"I know," she says.

The two continue to talk about their day and joke around.

Finally, Maya says goodbye and they both go to bed, or at least try to anyway.

Riley is faced with another sleepless night.
