Riley is putting her things away in her locker when Charlie Gardner approaches her.

"Hey, Riley. I heard about what happened to Maya. I'm sorry that she had to move."

"Nothing you could have done about it," Riley responds, as she closes her locker.

"Are you still going to go to the semi-formal this Saturday?"

"I don't know, Charlie. Why do you care?"

"Well, since you no longer have a date-"

"Maya and I are still dating," Riley interrupts the boy.

"I know. I know. That's not what I meant," he defends himself. "But if you come and you want someone to dance with, just as a friend, I'll be there," he says before walking away.

Saturday finally comes. The sky is gray and it has been pouring down rain all day.

Auggie drags a drenched Riley back into the apartment. "Mommy, Daddy, look what I found."

"Sweetie, what were you doing out in the rain?" Topagana asks her daughter.

"It was raining?" Riley responds.

"Riley, we know Maya's move has been hard on you, but it's been nearly two weeks. You need to stop avoiding life," Cory says.

"Yeah, Riley," Auggie starts. "You know me and Ava just broke up with each other. There was a lot a pain and heartache, but eventually I got over it."

"Auggie, did you and Ava really break up?" Cory asks.

"No, dad. I'm just trying to help. We are going to be together forever," Auggie whispers.

Riley hears what her brother says and moans in grief from being separated from Maya.

"Sweetie, isn't the semi-formal tonight?" Her mother asks her.

"It is, Topagna," Cory answers for his daughter.

"Why don't we fix you up and you go to the semi-formal with all your friends? It will help you get your mind off of everything," Topanga suggests.

"You know what, Mom, you are right. I just realized that I'm the one making all the calls and I'm the one that always texts first. I'm not going to be the one that walks all the way upstate to be rejected and look like a fool. If me and Maya aren't suppose to be together, then there is nothing I can do about it. I'm going to go to the semi-formal," Riley exclaims.

"Great," her mother says, "now let's go get you ready for this dance!"

Riley comes out into the living room.

"Wow, you look great, Riley."

"Thanks, Daddy," she says, as she hugs her father.

"Are you ready, Sweetie?" Topanga asks.

"Yeah, I guess. I just really wish-"

"We know, Riley. But it's not like Maya is just going to show up at our door."

There is suddenly a knock at the door.

Riley's face instantly lights up. "Maya!" She yells, as she bolts over to the door.

She opens the door.

"Hey."

Upon seeing who was at the door, Riley's smile instantly diminishes and she slams the door shut.

"Riley, who was that?" Topanga asks.

"No one important," she pouts.

Topanga goes over and opens the door. "Come in, Lucas."
