39: Help

"Riley, is everything alright?" Farkle asks.

Riley looks up at him. "What? Oh yeah, I'm fine."

Riley met Farkle, Lucas, Zay and Smackle at Topanga's, while Maya talked to Riley's parents.

"Are you sure?"Farkle further questions. "You know that you can tell us anything."

"Is everything okay with you and Maya?" Lucas inquires.

"Yes, everything is great between us," Riley confirms.

"You two haven't been apart since she moved back to the city," Smackle states. "It's weird not seeing her with you."

"She's got a point," Zay adds, taking a break from drinking his smoothie.

"Where is she anyway?" Farkle asks.

"She's busy, okay?" Riley says, becoming somewhat annoyed.

"Okay, we're sorry, Riley. We just wanted to make sure that everything is okay," Lucas defends the group.

"I know... I think I should go now," Riley says, before running out of the bakery.

The all look at each other confused at what had just happened.

[Earlier at the Matthews' Apartment.]

Maya knocks at the front, her hands shaking from her nervousness.

"Hello, Maya," Topanga greets her. "If you are looking for Riley, she left a little while ago. I thought she would have gone to see you."

"Actually I'm here to talk to you and Mr. Matthews," Maya says stepping into the apartment.

"Uhh... Okay... What about?" Topanga asks.

"Is Auggie here?" Maya inquires.

"No, he's at Doy's house," Cory says joining the other two in the living room. "Why?"

"I was just making sure he wasn't here," Maya answers.

The two both see that there is something bothering Maya.

"Maya, Sweetie, what's going on?" Topanga asks.

"You both need to sit down," Maya directs.

Without a question, Cory and Topanga do as the blonde had requested.

"I came here to talk to you about Riley," Maya starts. "Uh... So I don't know if you noticed, but after the dance she started acting differently."

"Yeah, we noticed," Cory speaks for him and Topanga.

"Yeah, well then she got better, right?"

"When you came back to town for that one day, yes," Topanga says.

"Yeah, but then she got worse again the next morning... And then suddenly she was better again, right?"

They both nod their heads in agreement.

Maya sighs, "please don't freak out when I tell you what I'm about to tell you."

"Maya-" Topanga says before getting interrupted.

"Riley only got better because she started cutting herself."

Cory and Topanga's faces instantly drop.

"She couldn't get what Missy did to her out of her head. It was haunting her... She said that without me there to protect her, she couldn't even sleep... So she decided to try it once... She said it made her feel better."

Water begins to form in all of their eyes.

"She continued to do that while I was upstate."

"When did she tell you this?" Topanga asks, her face blank.

"Yesterday... She told me she stopped once I moved back here."

"How do you know she's telling the truth?" Cory questions.

"She showed them to me," Maya shyly answers. "They looked recent... But not like fresh, i guess..."

"Where are they?" Topanga asks.

"Her upper thighs."

Cory and Topanga sit in silence, as they process all of this information.

"She said she stopped because she had me, but... But I'm still worried. What if she does it agin? Please... I need your help," Maya begs.

"Maya, thank you for coming to us," Topanga says.

Maya gives a slight smile and nods.

"We will do whatever it takes to help Riley," Cory adds. "We love her and we know that you love her too."

"More than anything in the world," Maya says.

Topanga gets up and embraces Maya in a hug and Cory soon follows.

They are interrupted when someone walks through the door.

"Riley!" Cory and Topanga yell in unison, as they rush over to their daughter, wrapping their arms around the girl.

"Mommy, Daddy," Riley says, closing her eyes and returning their hug.

"We are right here, Sweetie," Topanga assures her.

Riley reopens her eyes and looks over at her girlfriend. "Maya?"

Maya joins the family in their group hug. "Right here, Riles."

"Can you help me?" Riley asks the three.
