"Thanks for walking me home, Farkle," Riley says, as she embraces the boy in a hug.
Farkle grins, as the two break apart. "It was my pleasure, Riley. I had to know that you got home safely... Well goodnight."
Riley tries to smile, but both her and Farkle know that she is far from happy.
"Try to get some sleep," Farkle insists, as he begins to walk away from the brunette.
Riley watches Farkle leave and she starts anxiously fiddling her hands. "Farkle, wait!" She calls out. "Can I talk to you?"
Farkle turns back around. "Of course. Anytime, about anything," he assures her.
Riley begins climbing the fire escape up to room, and Farkle follows shortly behind her.
They both take a seat in the bay window and begin to talk quietly, so that they won't wake up Riley's parents or Auggie.
"What do you need to talk about?" Farkle asks.
"Why would she stay at the party without me? Earlier today it seemed like she didn't even want to go to the party, but she just let me leave? Why would she do that?"
"I think she wanted to go to the party, but I think she knew you weren't going to like it, so she tried to convince you not to go," Farkle explains.
"So this is my fault? I should have listened to her."
"No, that's not what I'm trying to say," Farkle says, as he puts a hand on Riley's arm to comfort. "She was trying to protect you, but you wanted to try something new. This is in no way your fault, Riley."
"Thanks, Farkle," Riley sincerely smiles.
"You're welcome. Now go to bed and try not to worry about all of this."
"I'll try."
"Good. See you later, Riley."
The two hug one last time, before Farkle heads out the window.
Once Farkle gets down the fire escape, he pulls out his phone and opens up Snapchat.
He sees that Maya had updated her story, so he clicks on it to watch it.
Farkle quickly taps through the majority of her story, before closing out of the app.
Upstairs Riley has changed her clothes and is sitting up in her bed, thinking about everything that had happened today and what was possibly happening.
Riley sees her phone light up to reveal a text from Farkle.
Farkle❤️🔬: I'm sorry I had to
As soon as Riley reads the text, she becomes confused. "What is he talking about? What could he have possibly done in the couple of minutes since he left?"
Farkle patiently waits, looking up into Riley's bedroom from the street. Once he sees the lights in her rooms turn on, he leaves.
Riley had just set her phone down, when her parents burst through her bedroom door, turning on the lights.
"You snuck out to a party?" Cory exclaims.
"You said you were spending the night at Maya's," Topanga says, sitting down on the edge of Riley's bed.
"Farkle told you?" Riley asks.
They nod their heads in agreement.
"Riley, why would you do that?" Cory questions, now a lot calmer than he was when he first came into her room.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gone," Riley shyly admits.
"We will talk about the rest of your punishment in the morning," Topanga states. "But for now we just need your phone."
"Uh... Okay," Riley replies, handing her phone over to her parents.
"Goodnight, Sweetie. See you in the morning," Cory says.
Topanga gets up and kisses her daughter on her forehead, before heading out of the room.
Cory follows Topanga, switching off the lights and slowly closing the door.
[Farkle's messages with Cory from just a few minutes earlier.]
Farkle: Mr. Matthews, I need to tell you something
Farkle: Please. This is very important
Farkle: It's about Riley and it's an emergency
Farkle: Answer as soon as you read this
Mr. Matthews📚: Can this not wait until the morning?!?!?
Farkle: No it can't
Farkle: Riley snuck out to a party tonight but she is in her room now
Mr. Matthews📚: Are you serious?
Farkle: Yes
Farkle: Please do me a favor and take Riley's phone away from her
Farkle: And please do it now
Mr. Matthews📚: Okay...
Mr. Matthews📚: Thanks Farkle
[Meanwhile, a little while later at the party.]
Farkle storms into the house and examines the room, before spotting Lucas sitting on a couch.
"Lucas, where is she?" Farkle demands.
"Where is who?" Lucas asks.
"Maya! Who do you think?"
"I don't know I haven't seen her in awhile," Lucas responds.
Farkle rolls his eyes and marches into the kitchen where he finds a blonde girl sitting on the ground in the corner of the room with a bottle in her hand.
Farkle walks straight over to the girl. "Maya, get up I am taking you home."
"Huh?" Maya mumbles, as she looks up to see who is talking to her. "Oh, Farkle what are you doing here? Do you want some?" Maya asks, offering Farkle her drink.
"Get up, Maya, you are going home. Now!"
