"Yeah, anything. Why did you think of something?" Riley perks up.

"Oh, I thought of something," Maya answers with a devious smile.

"Wha-" Riley is interrupted by a paint brush that is dragged down the side of her face.

"You," Maya says.

"Yay, your voice is back!" Riley happily exclaims. "Where's the purple paint?"

"Not the purple paint!" Maya yells. Grabbing the rest of the red and pouring it down the side of the brunette's face.

Riley runs over to the cabinet and finds a large bowl of purple paint.

Meanwhile, Maya runs over to a table and grabs two more colors of paint in both of her hands.

The two girls come back together. Maya takes the two paints and spills them both over Riley's head.

Riley has a smile on her face, "yay," she says as the paint runs down her face and onto her clothes.

"Yay? Why yay?"

Riley takes a step closer to Maya with the bowl of purple paint in her hands.

"Riley, you don't have to-"

The brunette dumps the entire bowl over Maya's head.

"Yay," Riley repeats.

They both separate again. Maya again grabs two more colors of paint from the table. This time Riley takes a cup of purple paint and a brush.

Maya marches over to Riley tips the two colors of paint over the other side of Riley's head, where there wasn't any paint.

Riley continues to smile and starts to brush purple paint all over Maya.

"Why are you so happy," Maya asks Riley.

"Why aren't you so happy?" Riley questions back.

"Maybe because I'm covered in paint, yet I still don't know what to paint."

"You painted me."

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean anything."

"Actually, I think it does," a voice interrupts.

"Mr. Jackson," the girls say in unison.

Riley sets the paint and brush down and stands next to Maya.

"We're really sorry," Maya says.

"Don't be sorry, Ms. Hart. You found your voice again."

"I did?"

"You did," he confirms.

"What did you paint?" The teacher directs towards Maya.

"Riley."

"And what did you paint, Ms. Matthews?"

"Maya."

"That's where you are both wrong."

"What?" Asks Riley.

"Turn towards me," the teacher says.

"Maya, you painted Riley with five different colors. Why is that?"

"I don't know, I just grabbed different colors and poured them on her."

"But why in that order?"

"I don't know," Maya responds.

"Red, orange, yellow, green and blue. In that order. Why?" Mr. Jackson questions.

"Because Riley is my happiness, my hope, my sunshine... She is what fills my world with color."

"And Riley, a purple cat?"

"That's all I ever paint," Riley replies.

"Why is it always purple?"

"I like purple."

"But why is that?"

Riley thinks for a second, "because I like pink, but I also like blue, so I chose purple."

"Good," says Mr. Jackson.

"Now, separately we know what each painting represents, but what happens if we put them together."

"It makes a rainbow," Riley states.

"And what does that rainbow represent?"

"It represent us," Maya says grabbing a hold of Riley's hand.

"Now is this what you wanted to tell the  world?"

Riley smiles and turns towards Maya.

The blonde is silent, before finally letting out, "I think it is."

"Very well. Now just a couple more things. Riley, this is the greatest purple cat I've ever seen. You'll never beat it. Can you please paint something else now?"

Riley's face lights up, "oh, you."

The teacher turns towards Maya, "you never lost your voice. Did you?"

"No, sir. I chose to hide it."

"Well I hope you have to courage to show that rest of the world your voice."

Maya looks at Riley and smiles, "I think I finally do."

A/N: Just to clarify if anyone didn't understand... Riley always painted the cat purple, because she herself is purple. The bisexual pride flag is pink (representing same sex attraction only) and  blue (representing opposite sex attraction only) with purple in the middle of the two (representing attraction to both sexes). Since Riley is bi, she always painted the cat purple, because that's who she is. I wasn't sure if that was clear in the chapter, so I wanted to explain it just in case.
