Kaylin
After walking for about 45 minutes, or in my case being carried by Scott, we arrived at a small hotel. The two story bricked building with blue trimmings and blue doors seemed nice. Some kids were playing at the end of the building, the parking lot wasn't full by any means. Lena stayed silently by our side while her partner went in to get us two rooms, she once again gave me a sympathetic look.
"I can walk you know," I yawned as I snuggled my head more comfortably on Scotts shoulder.
"You're body is exhausted my angel," he kissed my head but his arms didn't even flinch. I know I didn't weigh much he acted like he was holding air. I couldn't argue with Scott, I was exhausted, he saw that before I even left the woods. Hence why I was in his arms.
"Rooms 213and 214," the unknown male companion announced.
"They're connecting, so you can have privacy but we can all honor our pledges," Lena added in. I felt Scott's nod, once all in agreement we followed behind Lena to the rooms, her partner behind us. Our rooms were easy enough to find, the golden numbers easily readable over the blue doors, the room itself matched the hotel. Modest while not trashy, but definitely not "rent buy hour" if you know what I mean.
A large king bed covered by a burgundy comforter with golden leaves sewn on it was the focus of the room. The walls were off white, the fabric chairs a cream color with a dark wood finish. A tv mounted across from the bed, off to the side a desk with a phone, the bathroom seemed to be further back.
"Kaylin, Lena's gone on in, we'll follow in a moment," Lena's friend gently asked. Scott nodded that it was safe, Lena and me walked in and say in the chairs awaiting for the men to join us.
"Kaylin, I know there is a lot you don't know, and that's Scott's place to tell you, but I'm sorry. I hope you'll eventually see why I thought what I did was right. You don't have to talk to me know, but any question you have you can ask, I'll answer every thing, even if it may change the way you think of me," Lena promised, her eyes never breaking away from me. As if she held my soul in between her hands and forced me to look into hers.
Before I could answer the door behind me that connected our rooms opened and Lena's friend emerged. No Scott. I quickly sucked in a breathe, what happened now? Where was he?
"He's making a call, he'll be in. Me and Lena will be here. Knock if you need us," he tried to smile, I'm sure it was meant to reassure me. Nothing would until I saw Scott and got my answers. Lena's smile didn't scare me, I wanted to accept her apology, in time I may. For now all I could conjure up was a simple nod, and letting out the huge breathe of air I was holding as the door clicked closed.
I felt like I should cry. I was once again alone, scared, and didn't know what tomorrow held for me. I was use to this feeling in a way, obviously with Allen it was more morbid. Scott was holding so many secrets that I wasn't sure who he actually was, my feelings for Scott hadn't changed. After all this I had more questions than answers, I questioned Scott's motives more now than I did before the kidnapping, I even questioned my own sanity.
Just as my emotions began overflowing through me the front door opened producing Scott. My Scott. As if all those thoughts were years away and not seconds away, I couldn't remember my reservations about us. For a moment, a eternal moment he just loomed there at the door. Each of us just looking at each other and taking each one another in, drinking him in like he was my first drink of water after being rescued from the desert.
I'm fairly certain we hadn't even been apart 48 hours but he looked like he aged years. His eyes looked exhausted, bags forming and darkening his usually flawless skin. That dark hair, no longer perfectly placed but now having a wind blown effect. Traveling down you could tell every single muscle was tense, ready to attack, and had been for days.
