We had received strong reports that she was staying here, the fact that a vampire owned the place made it seem even more legitimate. A limo had pulled up to the building and I smelt Him. If he was involved then we had to act fast, at least confirm if there a was her.

Guards were surrounding the building, the limo, and Him. Anger and betrayal seeped into me from Bevan, my wolf. His guard was made up from different creatures, vampires, werewolves, warlocks, seemed like he even had a were-jaguar on his team. He had hunters in his pocket too, ones he had persuaded to work and kill for him so a large pay out. Following him out the limo was a woman, human, looked like his assistant. Probably also served as a blood bank too.

I repositioned myself of the roof of the building across from the vampire's den to see which floor they went. Moments ticked by and I saw movement from the top floor. Not needing binoculars I saw the curtains move, trying to listen I couldn't hear anything must be soundproof. Not uncommon for our kinds. So I waited.

My patience was rewarded moments later I saw movement in the living room. Seeing a man whom from my reports was named Scott Cape, least that's what he was going by these days, answering a door when He entered. I could see they were conversing, I still couldn't hear what they were saying though. I was about to leave and report my findings when I noticed the room shifting as if a new person had entered. That's when I saw her.

Scott brought his finger up to his lips, motioning for me to stay silent. I did as he made his way to the closest returning with a arm full of clothes and a large tote I recognized from my room, he opened it showing clothes from my room as well. He must have brought them from my room when I was still sleeping after our date.

I quickly grabbed new clothes, mainly my panties, I didn't know what was going on but I knew without them I would just feel naked. I pulled some yoga pants that were shoved down at the bottom and leg on Scott's shirt, he was shoving into my arms a hoodie that was clearly going to eat me alive. Scott threw on long sweats and a shirt that stretched across him perfectly, reminding me what we were doing moments ago. His hands on my face drew me out of my daydreaming.

"Kaylin," his voice was urgent but low. "Someone is here, he's...my boss technically. He's different, odd, but he won't hurt you, I won't let anyone hurt you ever again. I promise. Finish getting dressed, make sure you put my hoodie on, I'll explain why later. Just trust me, and be you're sweet, beautiful, perfect self and this will be over in a few moments," he kissed my forehead and went to the door and shut it behind him.

I quickly did as Scott asked, pulling his hoodie over his shirt that was already swallowing me whole. I went to the bathroom and picked Scott's comb up and ran it through my hair. I quickly ran out into the living room following Scott as quickly as I could.

Emerging from the hall wall I waited for my presence to be recognized, Allen's lessons still engraved into my soul. Once the attention had shifted to me a grin spread across my face.

"Uncle Richard!" I practically yelled as I ran through the room and launched myself into his awaiting arms.

"There's my favorite girl, Kaylin I'm surprised I didn't know you were here. Is your father here as well?" he inquired as he released me from our embrace.

"No, he not," Scott said through his clenched teeth. "Uncle Richard?" he asked, directing his question to Uncle Richard and not to me. He inched closer to me and I felt a sensation drawing me towards him. I smiled warmly at Uncle Richard before taking my place beside Scott. Wasting no time he entwined his fingers with my and pulled me securely into his side.
