Scott

It all clicked together. My senses went into overloaded. The man I was loyal to was the one who found her. Delivered Kaylin to Allen, a lamb to its own slaughter. I hadn't forgotten he was the one that was essentially responsible, but he wasn't to blame for Allen. He was the true monster in this world.

Had the man that I considered a father figure, a leader, my alpha if you will be the root of all this evil? Could it be lies? Was he the leak? Did he have a hand in all of Kaylin's misery?

I'd destroy him.

"Richard found me," Kaylin's voice broke through to me. I wanted to hold her but I wasn't sure I could contain myself. I hadn't fed in a few days, the events of the past week were draining. I needed to feed.

"Keep her safe," I ordered to Hunter. It ripped me apart knowing I couldn't be that man she needed right now. I knew Hunter could read the signs, he knew my beast needed blood and Kaylin was too important to risk.

I ran at my full speed to the door, and off the land to find a fresh donor. Bagged blood wasn't going to cut this.

"I'm sorry my angel."

Hunter

Kaylin's warm body pressed against me was bliss, it's everything I needed to just hold on and keep fighting for her. For us. Unfortunately it wasn't on the best of terms. I didn't have all the information but Kaylin seemed shocked and betrayed, as did Scott.

I felt his may have ran deeper, more personal, than my mates. Scott's rage was great but the discipline was remarkable. He moved Kaylin to me, asked me to look after my Mate, we'll our mate, he still contained it. Bevan understood his need to feed, emotions could eat away at his strength, his energy source, his blood. I doubt bagged blood would do. A dummy wouldn't fill Bevan's need to kill. He'd need to destroy the source. Jeremy thankfully alerted the guards of Scott's passage off the land, and the need to allow him to enter again. If calm.

"He, he left me?" Kaylin's voice broken, and lifeless it seemed. Her spirit broken so much that she seemed unable to cry.

"No, no baby. Never. Neither one of us would do that. He needs blood. He's a vampire," I conveyed. Her concern still not eased.

"Remember how Hunter ran after the meeting?" Jeremy responded. Making Kaylin look directly at him. I really couldn't explain his wolfs attachment to Kaylin but I knew it wasn't romantic.

"Y-y-yes," Kaylin stuttered out.

"His wolf, who deeply cares for you, was feeling a lot of things. So Hunter left so he could sort that without scaring or hurting you. That's why Scott left. He didn't want to scare you, you know he loves you, he just didn't want you in harms way," he reassured.

"Promise?" Oh my sweet love, her innocence was so child like. It was even more clear now why he left.

"Kaylin dear it's all okay," Ellen cooed. "Let's talk about this Richard. Who is he?"

"My Uncle," Joseph frowned. Not liking the title being stolen. "He, he, he always told me this story, that he found me. Richard was traveling. Business, as usual and he came across this orphanage. I was outside playing, my ball bounced over the fence and I was crying, he made the driver stop so he could fetch it for me. He always said 'It broke my heart to hear you cry, I couldn't let it happen again.' He visited a few times he said. He traveled too much to care for a child but knew someone who could. So he introduced Allen. At some point I went home with him," her voice grew broken again as she finished. Bevan clawing at my mind to kill these men who wronged my Mate.
