Chapter 10

Kaylin

I pulled the door open and I forgot how to breathe. Drinking him in I tore my eyes from his face to look at his body. The way his black sweater pulled across his chest and biceps, his jeans weren't tight but you could easily outline his manhood. I wasn't disappointed.

Immediately I wished I had a better selection of clothes, I felt over dressed now. Ditching the tee and jeans, I settled on a dress that had a cream top that met a black elastic band at my waist and finished in a black skirt that puffed out ending around mid thigh. My hair was reaching to my lower back, I had added waves to it so it wasn't so boring. I had earrings that creamed studs that dropped down to black gemmed teardrops, my black flats finished the outfit.

"Hey," I breathed. I sounded ridiculous, like a silly school girl.

"You, you look amazing Kaylin," he responded as he entered the house. My skin burned with pleasure as his large hand cupped my face. Automatically my face turned into his palm, sickly needed to feel more of his skin against mine. This was crazy, I knew that but for once I wasn't in pain I was happy. I felt like I earned this.

"Thank you," I managed to breathe. He pulled away all too soon, letting out a small whimper. I didn't think it was that loud but Scott chuckled and grabbed my hands, intertwining our fingers.

"Let's get out of here," he whispered huskily in my ear. Blush pooling in my checks I allowed Scott to lead us out on to the porch. The cool night air hit my bare arms but was immediately replaced by Scotts side as he placed his arm around my shoulders and pulled me into his side. A girl could get use to this,

"Where are we going?" I asked. I didn't know if I was overstepping a line. Old habits die hard. Any place would be perfect, as long as he was there. He pulled the door open and guided me in with his hand in the small of my back, it didn't seem...possessive. It felt like he just needed to know I was safe. Feeling his touch made me feel that way. Safe.

"It's something that I've always wanted to do. It'll take a little bit to get there though. Only one place that'll work," he smiled as he buckled his seatbelt. I didn't miss him glance over to make sure mine was secured as well. It warmed my heart knowing that he cared.

The car ride was nothing short of amazing. At first neither of us knew exactly what to say it seemed, then it seemed all at once that the silent barrier between us broke when I asked to play some music. It was on a classical station, Scott went to change it but I shot my hand out to stop him. If only I could be wrapped in the warmth that I felt on my hand. It was addicting, I'm not sure how I'd react when this was over. Hard as it was to admit, I knew Allen would quickly find a way to end this. My happiness wasn't something that was allowed in his eyes.

As we rounded a corner our conversation quickly died out, I had only been to the city a few times. Night time was my favorite. I loved the country but there was something about seeing a city changes just because the sun goes down. It comes alive. A small smile crept on to my face and Scotts husky laugh tickled my ears.

"What?" I asked shyly. Embarrassed, I didn't want to ruin this. Even if this was only to last a moment, I wanted this moment to last a lifetime.

"Knowing that I put that smile on your face," he said and he leaned over and ran his thumb over my bottom lip. He didn't finish his sentence but I knew it was laced with happiness. I sat back in the seat and enjoyed the ride into town, the buzz of the city growing closer with each passing second.
