"Lauren. Earth to Lauren," Ally said for the seventh time, waving a hand in front of Lauren's face. They were at lunch now, and Lauren was still zoned out.
"Jesus Laur, I know you didn't sleep but at least pay attention," said Dinah, earning another punch from Ally.
"Damnit Ally, what did I do this time?" She said, oblivious.
"Lo, there's obviously something on your mind. You can tell us," said Normani, wrapping her arm around Lauren.
Normani tended to be the more affectionate one out of Lauren's group of friends. She was always giving Lauren hugs and kisses to make her feel better, and they always did.
Ally used words to comfort her. Lauren always said that she was wise beyond her years. Ally really "spoke from the heart".
Dinah was something else. She teased and joked a lot, using her humor as a mechanism to cheer Lauren up, which usually ended in Ally or Normani punching her in some way.
Lauren hadn't figured out Camila yet, since she'd only known her for a day. That being said, they did make out once already.
"It's nothing," said Lauren, leaning into Normani.
"You know you can tell us anything," said Dinah, not being obliviously humorous for once.
"It's, uh, more of a private conversation," Lauren said, gesturing to her surroundings. The girls understood, except for Camila.
"I think I know why she's like this," the small girl said. The four others turned their heads to face her. Dinah took a sip from her Coke.
"I may have tried to make Zach jealous by sort of making out with Lauren a tiny bit," she said quietly.
Poor Dinah, who was still drinking, started to choke on her Coke at the news. Ally just stared. Normani sat there quietly, while Lauren buried her face into Normani's sweatshirt.
"You did what now?" Dinah sputtered in between coughs.
"I made Lauren do it, before you get mad," said Camila defensively.
"Mad?" Normani said, trying to hold back a laugh.
    "It's kinda funny," giggled Ally.
"Kinda? It's fucking hilarious!" Dinah shouted, now recovered from her coughing fit. Dinah yelled a bit too loud though, catching the attention of a nearby teacher, who started to walk over.
"Miss Hansen, if I remember correctly, swearing has been a past issue for you. I will see you in my classroom after school," the teacher said, scribbling Dinah a detention slip.
"Asshole," she muttered after he walked out of hearing distance, making them all laugh.
"Way to go genius," laughed Lauren. Dinah just glared at her, making her laugh even harder.
"Let's play a game!" Ally suggested. The other four nodded.
"You have to say what you like about the person on your left," explained Ally.
"I'll go first. What I like about Dinah. Boy this is going to be hard considering I don't really like you Dinah," said Ally laughing.
"You love me! Don't lie to yourself," Dinah said.
"Ok ok. What I like about Dinah is that she's really hilarious and oblivious, and how much she secretly cares for her friends, even though she's a pain in the ass a lot." Dinah smiled and gave Ally a hug.
"I guess Camila is on my left. Ok, so I just met you yesterday, but I can already say that I like how you hold your friendships close to you, and how much you care about others," said Dinah. Camila hugged her and moved on to her turn.
"Lauren! You're on my left," she said.
    "Jesus Christ," thought Lauren nervously.
"I like your sense of humor and how nice you are. Oh, and your eyes because they are pretty fucking dope," finished Camila, making Lauren's heart swell.
"I would hug you but I'm really lazy and Normani is really comfortable," said Lauren chuckling.
"I'll take a rain check on it then," she said smiling.
"Ok, Normani. I love how affectionate you are because I don't know how I would survive a hard day without your hugs and kisses," said Lauren, wrapping her arms. Around Normani.
"Aww thanks Lo," Normani cooed, giving Lauren one of said kisses on her cheek.
"Ok, Ally-" she said, but was cut off by the bell.
"Boo. I owe you that Ally," said Normani frowning.
By this point, Lauren had dozed off in Normani's arms.
"Lauren, it's time to go to class," said Normani.
"Five more minutes," whined Lauren, making Normani giggle.
"Unless you want Mr. Kelly to give you a detention, I suggest you get your ass up," she said. Lauren sighed and sat up with a groan.
Lauren had English now, which was usually her happy place. She strolled into the classroom, picking a seat in the back. Lauren almost passed out when Camila took a seat next to her.
"Hi Lauren," she said casually. Lauren felt something bubble inside of her. It was anger. She was angry at Camila for playing off that kiss like it was nothing.
"Don't hi Lauen me, we need to talk," she said, looking straight ahead. She could see Camila tilt her head out of the corner of her eye.
"What about?" Lauren practically slammed her head into her desk.
"Seriously? What about? It's about the fact that we made out earlier and you're pretending like it's nothing," she said, her voice a whisper now.
"I really don't see how it's that big of a deal," Camila responded innocently.
"Camila, friends don't just kiss randomly! It's not right," hissed Lauren.
"You and Normani do it all the time." Lauren almost ripped her hair out.
"On the cheek, Camila. Not full on making out," sighed Lauren, rubbing her temples.
"I do it all the time," Camila said proudly, making Lauren cough awkwardly.
"Why?" Lauren questioned, instantly regretting asking.
"Because I'm gay." Those three words made Lauren's pulse race, and her whole body go numb.
"You're what?" Lauren questioned.
"Jesus Lauren, do I need to spell it out for you? G-A-Y, gay. I'm as gay as they come. I like girls, not-" Camila explained, but was cut off by Lauren.
"I get it Camila," Lauren said in disbelief.
"Ok, cool," Camila said with a smile and turned to Mr.Kelly.

As soon as the bell rang, Lauren hightailed it out of the school. She was about to get into her car when she realized she had to wait for her siblings.
"Fuck," she said, plain and simple. So, Lauren waited. When the two siblings exited the school, Lauren had been waiting for seventeen minutes.
As soon as Lauren got home, she called Ally, Dinah, and Normani. Lauren needed to tell her friends about her questioned sexuality. Normani and Ally were all set to come. Dinah however, had earned herself a detention from her swearing incident at lunch.
"Diiiiiiiinah," Lauren whined into her phone.
"Laaaaaaaaauren," Dinah mocked back.
"Just climb out the window," Lauren suggested.
"Laure, I'm not spider man. We are not in a fucking comic book. Plus, the old teacher I'm with might have a heart attack if he sees me on my phone," sighed Dinah. The teacher was in the library, leaving Dinah alone. Brilliant idea.
"Pleeeeeeeease! It's an emergency," begged Lauren, fake crying into the phone. After a long pause, Lauren heard Dinah groan.
"The things I do for your ass Jauregui. I'll come straight over after my detention. It ends in like ten minutes so just chill until the party arrives," she mumbled.
It was settled. Lauren was going to come out. Tonight.
