It was now December, and Lauren was finding it harder and harder to keep her relationship with Camila a secret. The two had been dating in secret for two months, and the only one who knew was Normani.
Every morning, Lauren would meet Camila in the parking lot of the school. They would share a kiss or two and then walk into school like everything was the same. It was fairly easy to keep it a secret in the beginning, but as they grew closer it got harder and harder.
It was Friday night, Pizza Friday, and it was being held at Camila's house. Lauren always loved Camila's house, it was so comforting and warm. Lauren arrived about an hour and a half earlier to spend time with Camila before their friends arrived. And Lauren had been thinking.
"Sooo, I've been thinking recently," Lauren blurted out. Camila and her were cuddling on the couch, watching Elf for the millionth time.
"Oh god, here we go," Camila said dramatically. Lauren laughed a little, but quickly stopped. She noticed her heart was racing and she was nervous. Why was she so scared?
"I think that it might possibly be time that we tell our friends about...us," Lauren said. She hoped for the best answer.
"What are we?" Camila asked. At first Lauren was confused. But she thought for a bit, and then asked herself the same question. They were going out on dates and stealing kisses here and there, but what were they really? She thought for some more before answering.
"I have a question to ask you." Camila suddenly turned around to face her.
"Karla Camila Cabello, will you make me the happiest woman on the face of this Earth by becoming my girlfriend?" Lauren asked. Camila tried to keep a straight face, but failed miserably and burst out laughing. Nonetheless, she gently placed her hands on Lauren's face and leaned in real close.
"Yes, I would love to," Camila whispered, then closed the gap by connecting their lips. Lauren smiled through the kiss and wrapped her arms around the smaller girl's body.
"So, are we going to tell our friends or what?" Lauren asked again. This time, Camila nodded excitedly. They returned to their cuddling positions and returned their attention to the movie again. Lauren felt like a huge weight had just been lifted off her chest.
"Camila is my girlfriend," Lauren thought to herself with a smile.
Soon after the movie was over, the three other girls arrived, along with the pizza, candy, and all the other things they needed.
"Ok children, what are we watching tonight?" Ally asked. They had a variety of Christmas movies to choose from. Lauren and Camila wanted Rudolph, Normani didn't care, and Dinah was very passionate about Home Alone. Home Alone won in the end, with Ally being the final deciding votes. The girls assumed their usual positions and started the movie.
In the middle of the movie when Dinah got up for food, Lauren looked at Camila. Was it time to tell them? Camila nodded. She looked a bit nervous too.
"Dinah! Come in here!" Camila shouted. Dinah groaned from the other room and slowly walked back in with fruit.
"I just wanted my damn fruit, Jesus," she mumbled and sat back down. Ally was about to start the movie again, but Lauren stopped her. Camila glanced at Lauren and found her hand under a blanket and squeezed it.
"I have something to confess to you guys," Lauren said. She took a deep breath.
"Camila and I...well...we've kinda sorta maybe been dating for the past two months and have kept it a secret from everyone except for Mani." Their expressions were priceless. Normani's face showed pure joy, Ally's face was shocked, and Dinah's was a mix of both. Dinah was also the first one to scream and hug both of them.
"My ship is finally sailing! I'm so happy I might cry," she exclaimed dramatically. Ally's face was still shocked.
"You ok, Ally?" Camila asked with a giggle.
"You're the one," she said. They all looked at her weird.
"We all knew that Lauren liked someone and that it was screwing her up badly. But I had no clue that it was Camila. I'm so happy for you both. But why did you tell Normani?" She said.
"I told Normani because when she was over and I couldn't sleep she found me in the kitchen like a creep and I had no choice but to tell her." Normani smiled widely.
After discussing random questions for the next half hour, they were finally back to watching the movie. That's when Lauren realized that she had not only spilled one of her biggest secrets ever, but had just come out to her friends. She wrapped her arms around Camila tightly and took in her familiar scent. A scent she would never get tired of.
Lauren didn't realize she had fallen asleep until she woke up and it was light out. She felt a weight on her chest and opened her eyes to the smaller brunette on her chest. Two months ago, she had no clue what to think of the same situation.
Lauren stretched, she was kind of sore from sleeping on the couch. Her stretch woke Camila up.
"Morning," Lauren said softly to the brown eyes staring at her.
"Stop that," Camila said with a smile.
"Stop what?"
"You know, being adorable like that. It's not fair."
"Oh really? So you're saying I should stop being adorable?" Lauren loved teasing Camila.
"Laur, you're killing me," Camila sighed.
"I know." A groan cane from the other side of the room.
"Oh my god, stop being so freakin' cute at this early in the morning. It's unhealthy." Dinah was definitely up now.
Once again, Dinah and Normani left for dance right after breakfast, and Ally left not long after. So it was just Camila and Lauren. They were laying on the couch talking. Lauren's hand was in Camila's, and Camila was playing with Lauren's fingers.
"You know what's crazy? Two months ago I was practically screaming my head off at you because I had no clue what we were," Lauren said. It was silent for a bit.
"Oh god, I love you," Camila said innocently. Lauren's eyes widened and she looked at Camila. Camila's face looked terrified was she looked at Lauren.
"Oh shit," Camila whispered. Camila was a sensitive person and seemed to care what people thought about her, but when tears sprung to her eyes it shocked Lauren. Lauren quickly reached up to wipe them away.
"You don't have to cry Camz," she said softly.
"Why? Why shouldn't I cry? I literally just dropped the L bomb and we've been dating for two months."
"Because I love you too."
