Chapter 21

Camila thought for a long time after Normani left. She knew she needed to apologize to Lauren but she didn't know how. By the time she had actually come up with something, it was dark outside. She had just about given up until she heard a soft knock on her door.

"Come in," she said weakly. So did walked into her room and climbed on to her big sister's bed.

"Hi Mila," Sofi said sweetly.

"Hi Sof," she said. Sofi reached her little hands up to Camila's face and patted her cheeks.

"Why are you sad?" Sofi asked. Camila laughed to herself, wishing she could be as innocent as Sofi still was.

"You know how people sometimes really like each other?" Camila asked.

"You mean like love?" Sofi asked. Camila nodded.

"Well I really like someone," Camila explained. Sofi's little eyes widened.

"Who?" Sofi questioned.

"I really like the girl down the street," Camila confessed.

"You mean the really pretty and nice one?" Camila laughed at her sister.

"Yes her. We're dating," explained Camila. Sofi leaned up to Camila's ear.

"So you...kiss and hold hands?" Sofi whispered. Camila nodded.

"I like her, she's funny," Sofi said with a smile. Camila nodded again.

"Yeah. Yeah she is." Camila said.

About an hour later, Camila was standing at Lauren's door. She had been standing there for ten minutes, just working up the courage to knock. She eventually did, and Lauren's mom answered the door.

"Hi Mrs. Jauregui, is Lauren home?" Camila said.

"Hi Camila. Yes she is, she's in her room. You can go right up," she said. Camila thanked her and went up the stairs to Lauren' room. This time, she didn't wait and knocked right away.

"It's open," Lauren's raspy voice said and Camila felt the tears burning at the back of her eyes already. She took a deep breath and walked in, closing the door behind her. Lauren's face showed surprise, anger, and a hint of happiness.

"Ok. Look Lauren, I know you don't want to see me right now. But I can't stand to be with out you. And I feel horrible about last night. I got jealous of you kissing Dinah even though I shouldn't have. It's just, my heart was broken with Nicole and I was afraid you were doing to leave me like she left me. So I'm sorry. So sorry. So incredibly sorry. I know you probably won't forgive me, and I'll accept that. I just want you to know that I'm sorry," Camila said. She was out of breath and crying by the time she had finished.

She watched Lauren slowly get up from her bed. The green eyed girl wore nothing more than an oversized t-shirt and her underwear, which made Camila's adrenaline surge. Lauren slowly walked over to Camila and placed her hands on Camila's face. She opened her mouth to speak, but a tear rolled down her cheek instead. She closed her eyes and tried to stop the tears.

Camila used her thumbs to wipe away the tears. Lauren laughed slightly as she wiped away Camila's tears too.

"I forgive you," Lauren whispered, and kissed Camila. Camila kissed back with passion and love.

"Do I get my goodbye kiss?" Lauren asked. Camila thought she looked adorable with the sheets around her chest.

Camila ran over and eagerly met Lauren's lips. She smiled through the kiss when Lauren reached behind and grabbed Camila's butt. She reluctantly pulled away.

"I love you, Lauren Michelle Jauregui," Camila said with a smile.

"I love you more, Karla Camila Cabello," Lauren said back, and Camila left with that. She thanked Lauren's parents and headed towards her house. Ignoring her parents, she went to her room and sat on her bed in complete bliss.

Sofi walked into her room and climbed into Camila's lap.

"Hi, Sof. What's up?" Camila asked.

"So do you want to marry Lauren?" She asked softly. Camila laughed lightly.

"You're a smart kid, you know that? One day, yes, I hope to marry her," she admitted.

"I would like that. I like Lauren, she's nice," Sofi said.

"Yeah. She is nice," Camila said fondly.

"What else is she like?"

"Well, she has a smile that makes every problem in my life go away, she's got eyes that I could stare into all day long. Her hugs are the best, you have to ask her for one the next time we see her. She's kind, beautiful, and smart. I love her, and I'm happy you do too," Camila said. She smiled down at her sister, ans hoped that Lauren could feel her smiling at her from down the street.
