Chapter 9

    The rest of the night was spent watching movies and talking about the most recent drama in their grade. The girls were still oblivious to who Lauren liked, which made her fidgety and uncomfortable.
Dinah had eaten seven pieces of pizza, so she was out cold, probably for the rest of the night. Normani and Ally were in the middle of an animated conversation. That left Camila and Lauren pretty much in their own world.
Lauren contently sighed as she wrapped her arms around the brunette's small body. Camila snuggled into her even more, like she was afraid to let go.
"Camz?" Lauen asked softly, afraid to disturb the small girl.
"Mhm?"
"Are you ok now?"
"As soon as you opened the door I felt better." Lauren's heart almost exploded. Camila made her feel a way no one else could. Her smile lit up Lauren's day. Her laugh could instantly make Lauren feel happy and bubbly inside. Camila was special to Lauren's heart.
"Lolo? Can I tell you something?" Camila mumbled into Lauren's side. Lauren nodded. She was excited and scared for what Camila was going to say.
"You're the only friend I've ever really had. You were the first person who talked to me on the first day of school. You were the first person I came out to, and the first person to not make fun of me for liking girls. You're my best friend Lolo, and you always will be," she said.
Lauren's heart skipped a beat and she felt a smile quickly filling up her face.
"Oh my god Lolo! You're crying!" Camila exclaimed. Lauren felt her cheek and felt the tears falling.
"I guess you're were really sappy Camz," Laure teased, earning a laugh from Camila.
"Ok, I don't know about you guys, but I'm exhausted, so I'm going to be like Dinah and sleep," Normani said with a yawn. Ally nodded and turned off the lights.
The only thing illuminating the two girls still awake on the couch was the tv, playing some sort of late night infomercial channel. They sat in silence, Camila's words still in her ears. Lauren felt Camila shiver in her arms.
    "Are you cold?" Lauren asked. Camila quickly nodded.
    "Stay here, I'll grab you a sweatshirt," whispered Lauren. She padded up the stairs and into her room. She grabbed a sweatshirt that she wore almost every day and made her way carefully down stairs.
    When Camila saw what sweatshirt it was, her face lit up. She happily slipped it on to her body and snuggled back into Lauren. The pair sat happily together, Camila innocently making Lauren's heart race.
    It was now 3 a.m, and the two were still awake. They watched the infomercials together, occasionally laughing at the stupid ones.
    "Ok Camz, I think I'm going to try to get some sleep," Lauren said with a yawn. Camila nodded.
    "Laur, wait," Camila said just as Lauren was drifting off. She opened her eyes to see a pair of brown ones staring into hers.
"Thank you. Thank you for being my best friend, supporting me, understanding me, and for being there for me," she said. Their faces were just inches apart now. Lauren longed to close the distance.
    "Camz, I-you're welcome. You'll always be my Camz," Lauren said quietly so she didn't wake the others.
    Camila just sat there. She was practically straddling Lauren.
    "Goodnight Camz. I love you." Lauren closed her eyes at the end of the sentence.
    "Lauren," Camila said seriously. Lauren's eyes shot open again. Camila opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out. Lauren pulse quickened. She felt Camila lean forward.
    Lauren closed the distance between them, their lips meeting in the middle. Lauren felt a surge of adrenaline through her veins as their lips moved together. Lauren ran her hand through Camila's hair and felt all her worries melted away.
    Camila's lips were the best she had ever had the pleasure of kissing. She tasted sweet. Lauren could kiss Camila for hours on end. Unfortunately, the kiss ended, leaving Lauren heaving from lack of oxygen.
    Camila laid her head down on Lauren's chest and drifted off into sleep. Lauren, however, lay awake. Did Camila like her? Did she feel the same way about Lauren? Or was she just kissing Lauren because she hurt from the breakup?
    Her lips tingled and her heart raced. Questions filled her mind instead of sleep. She felt confused. Eventually, sleep found Lauren.
    All the girls were not asleep though. Normani had woken up when Lauren got the sweatshirt for Camila and hadn't been able to go back to sleep. She almost screamed when she saw Camila and Lauren making out.
    Slowly but surely, the sun rose into the sky, casting rays of light over the five girls in the living room. Normani had been awake Since around 4:30 a.m, and it was now 7:30 am.
    Normani couldn't wake any longer. She shook Ally forcefully.
    "No, let me sleep forever," mumbled Ally.
    "I have something really important to tell you, so get up and be quiet," whispered Normani as she crawled to Dinah. Dinah was a bit harder to wake up.
    "Dinah. Dinah Jane. Dinah Jane Hansen get your ass up before I make you get it up," Normani hissed.
    "What the fuck Mani? Let me sleep," Dinah said loudly. Normani shushed Dinah.
    "I have something important to tell you, it's about Jauregui and her secret crush," hissed Normani. With a groan, Dinah followed Ally and Normani into the kitchen.
    "Can you please hurry up and fucking explain why you got us up this early?"Dinah grumbled.
    "Dinah," Ally warned. Ally wasn't a fan of the girls swearing.
    "Ok, so this morning at like three, Lauren got up and gave Camila her favorite sweatshirt. The one she wears all the time. I thought it was innocent enough, but some things happened and then they were making out," Normani explained, leaving the other girls confused.
    "Well, I did kind of guess ed that Lauren had a thing for Camila by the way Lauren glared at Nicole like she wanted to hit her with a bus," Ally said. Dinah just nodded and rubbed her eyes.
    "I can't wait until they wake up," Normani said with a giggle.
