"ALRIGHT LADIES THATS ENOUGH FOR TODAY! Great job. I expect you all here Monday-Friday on time! Oh and before I forget. Let's all say happy birthday to Clarke"
Clarke's stared at her teacher in shock well her cheeks and ears were already red from the amount of exercise from practice making her feel a little better when put on the spot. "HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CLARKE" the team said in perfect unison. Then receiving an arm around the shoulder from her best friend. "Happy birthday, Clarkie" Lexa said in a whisper into the girls ear well pulling a small smirk at the corner of her mouth to see Clarke's reaction to the infamous horrible nickname betrothed on her by her best friend, only to be shocked as Clarke gave Lexa a bear hug. "Thanks, Lex." Clarke whispered. "For what?" Lexa responded with a confused tone. "For being my person" Clarke said well the rush of blood came to her face making her blush. Lexa saw this "I will always be your person and you'll always be mine. You're like my sister, but more." Lexa then put an arm around Clarke with gym bags in their hands and started to walk to Abigail.*Clarke's thoughts*
Why did that hurt? Why am I not okay with the word 'sister'? Do you like Lexa!? No! What? You're only 10! You don't know what you want Clarkie? Did I just call myself by that annoying nickname? Oh how I love how Lexa calls me that. WHAT? No! Stop it. Suppress these feelings NOW! Oh my gosh I barely noticed her arm around me. Raven doesn't have her arm around Octavia and they're best friends. Why does Lexa do this to me? Does she share these same feelings? No, she's just your friend! You're best friend so don't think about her like this anymore. We are just really close friends. Yeah! That's what this is. We are just friends. Now calm down and get in the car.Lexa takes her arm off of Clarke and Clarke instantly looks up at her best friend confused. "What?" Lexa says in a funny tone. "I'm just putting our bags in the car, princess." Clarke was mute and fidgeting with her skirt. Lexa noticed this and started to feel as though Clarke was distressed and rushed to put their bags in the trunk to catch Clarke before she got into the passenger seat. "Is everything alright?" Lexa said with worry in her eyes. "I'm fine. Let's go." Clarke entered the car. Then Lexa joined her in the back seat. Clarke knew better, Lexa wasn't gonna let this go.
Once the girls were strapped in they drove in traffic for what should've been 15 minute turned into an hour or so and soon can to their street but instead they pulled up to Lexa's house next door through the long driveway instead of Clarke's when Abigail spoke "Clarke-" she was shortly interrupted. "Don't say it" Clarke walked out of the car walking towards Lexa's door with Lexa close behind. Abigail rolled down the window to speak "I'm so sorry, honey but I have to go to work. Please behave I'll be back by Sunday. You'll stay with Lexa for the weekend. Happy birthday, I love you."
Clarke held her gym bag with a tight grip trying to control her feelings. Lexa opened the door and Clarke quickly ran to Lexa's room. Lexa's dad was most likely in his study to pay any business to the girls and Kennedy was more than likely home but mentally at work well writing down ideas for her business meetings.
Lexa thought this would be a better time to give Clarke her present to cheer up her best friend.Opening the door Clarke was already on her side of the bed as Clarke always claimed it as hers because she liked the side closest to the balcony to see the stars at night. Placing the gym bags on the floor of her closet, Lexa slowly went around the bed to meet Clarke's watery eyes. Lexa wiped the tears with her thumb giving her a kiss on the cheek. Causing Clarke to blush. "Hey it's okay. You're okay. I'm here and I have something for you. Are you ready for your gift, princess?" Lexa said well slowly rubbing circles into Clarke's hand. "Yeah. Let me just wash up." Wiping more tears as she walked away into Lexa's restroom. This gave Lexa time to go into her dressing room/closet to get the present out of the gym bag. Clarke walked out of the restroom to find Lexa no longer in the room. "Lexa?" Clarke yelled. "In here" Lexa responded from the closet. "Come and sit." Lexa said well patting the spot next to her.
"What's in the box" Clarke said wide eyed with excitement. Lexa opened the box and Clarke was so shocked to see a notebook with a bunch of art stuff. Grabbing the dark green notebook she nearly cried to see her last name embroidered into it. Clarke gasped when she realized what she was holding. "My dad had a notebook exactly like this one to draw my mom and writing down notes about her. How-?" Clarke was interrupted. " I have my ways" Lexa said in a super hero stance. "Mom?" Clarke replied in playful sarcastic way already knowing the answer. "Maybe" Lexa laughed. "I love it, Lex" Clarke was about to hug her best friend till she realized there was a small jewelry box that was hidden under the notebook. "What's this?" Clarke said well picking up the second part of the gift. "Oh that-" Lexa was blushing by this point definitely regretting this part of the present. "It's beautiful and cheesy, Lex. Totally you." Clarke still looking at the piece of jewelry. "Wait a second what does that mean?" Lexa was acting offended but not for long when Clarke asked her where the other piece of the necklace was. " I'm wearing it already." She pulled her half heart necklace out with the letter "c" on it. Clarke smiled a big grin and soon put her necklace on herself showing the other half of the heart with an "L" on it.
Clarke couldn't hold back anymore and lex started to throw the wrapping paper away and grabbed Lexa's hand before leaving the closet. Clarke hugged her best friend with no remorse as to the possibility that she might break Lexa."I love you." Lexa said. "You're my person and I will always love you" Clarke let out a tear. "It's you before anyone." Lexa started to cry bringing the hug back together that lasted a few minutes.
YOU'RE PROBABLY WONDERING WHAT THE HECK CLARKE GOT LEXA FOR HER BIRTHDAY THE DAY BEFORE. IT WAS A CAMERA. A very expensive one that Clarke had to save up for. She did chores even though she has maids for that. Her mom would've easily bought it for Lexa but Clarke wanted this present to be special and to take full credit.
