"Call it, Dr. Griffin." Maia said softly.

"Time: zero seven thirty-two." Clarke said with hard breathing from trying to revive the young 17 year old boy. "I'll go speak to his family."

"No, I'll do it. You should take the rest of the day off-"

"But-" Clarke try's to interject.

"No buts. I can't have our best surgeon completely wore out. Go have dinner with your family. Go to the beach. I don't care. Just take some time off. I already have a work junky Griffin driving me crazy I don't need another."

"I'm pretty sure I'm the boss at this establishment." Clarke scoffs.

"Even company owners need a rest from time to time. Now go!" Maia swatted Clarke out of the way of the patient.

"Fine, but please just give my condolences to his family. I need to warn my oldest daughter that one of her peers has passed. She going to be lucky if she gets to drive her car after today."

"Oh and before I forget! Tell her I said congratulations!" Maia shouted down the P-way.

"Congratulations for what?"

"For becoming valedictorian of course. Didn't you hear?"

"Oh my gosh! Bye! I got to go." Clarke skipped away.

"Don't you know? You're the doctor, Klarke. He was under your care." Lexa spoke differently that Clarke didn't understand what she was getting at.

"So it's my fault? I did everything I can. You know what. Where is our daughter. She's the one I need to be thinking about right now not your overdramatic bull shit." Clarke stepped back "I don't know what has gotten you so upset but please don't use me as a punching bag."

"Leave her. Jade is with her. They're fine for now. Let's just give them some time to themselves. Sit down." Lexa pats the seat next to hers and looks away to the windows facing the backyard.
