Without even thinking I ran over to the collapsed shelf. I tried my hardest to lift it but even with all my strength I was too weak. I looked around and realized that Kyle was still standing behind looking dead in shock. I rolled my eyes before saying to him “Help, I haven’t got enough strength to pull this off him” I raised it up higher so there was more space. “You need to pull him out” he nodded before reaching his hand down to him friend. Of course he took it and was pulled partly to safety. I dropped the shelf and turned to face the burning girl.
“You bitch, I knew you would choose him over me” she shouted in disgust. I could hardly see her face through the flame that danced in my view. It was breath taking even with Robin shouting at me. “You are just a bitch, I never liked you” her words were harsh and even in this time of hate they hurt even more than the empty words she would usually throw my way.
“You know you could have saved yourself, if you weren’t such a big pussy” I yelled. I was angrier than I had ever been and I was allowing this anger to flow freely not caring for the consequences. “You have relied on your sister and mum for sixteen years but guess what they aren’t around to save you this time!” I shouted louder and louder, not realizing I was gaining on the trapped betrayer. “I gave you the opportunity to survive, see this hell in a new light. But guess what? You threw it away” the expression on her face was priceless and all she will know now as the flames burn up her weak frail body is the hat I have for her. It must feel awful but she deserved it for abandoning me alone, defenceless, whilst injured. “You should be grateful” I stopped once I felt the harsh heat radiating off the danger.
“Why?” she spat at me, injecting venom against the single word.
“You don’t have to face the pain of being one of them; your body will be so badly burned… you won’t be able to move” I turned from her, hearing the screams, it was killing me but it had to be done. I ran through the blaze feeling the guilt piling high on my already weak shoulders. I was surprised it didn’t take me down, giving me the same fate I declared for her. To me she was a distant memory but to my conscious it was a victim that fell in my arms and I was the murderer.
Creaking and cracking warned me about the weak structure I was underneath, would I make it? That is not for me to decide but I can try to change the events. I ran faster, coughing and wheezing as the smoke blackened my lungs. I covered my mouth and nose with my sleeve before carrying on to the door. Pushed my arms out to touch the glass I=only to find nothing would budge. I panicked and began to bang furiously against the thick glass. “Help me, please” I yelled frantically, my voice getting quieter and quieter with the second. My head felt lighter than usual but that wouldn’t stop me from hitting the glass. My pounding became subtle taps and then nothing. That is when everything when black.
